The little tinker started making movements I noticed the night before my scan at 19+3. I now wonder how many more there were that I didn't notice. I found it a tricky week to wait.
Thanks for this lilmiss I'm 17 + 3 today and I just thought that I'd be feeling something by now but as you say it's possible I'm missing it. Definitely have no problem eating...i can't stop. I told myself I would be better this time and not eat as much but get so hungry.
Hope you feel better later Tink.
Daisie - 12 hours sleep sounds amazing! glad you are feeling better.0 -
Alioops- I found this website helpful when I was worrying about not feeling movement around the same time as you. http://www.childbirthconnection.org/article.asp?ck=10239&ClickedLink=343&area=27
I looked at the 12 week pic and the 20 week pic and imagined halfway between- there's tonnes of room in there still and baby is still quite small (think I read that baby about the size of an onion whilst uterus the size of a cantaloupe melon) so it's going to be pretty difficult to feel anything. When I did start feeling it at around 18/19 weeks it was only at night when relaxed and could only tell it was baby moving if I knew I wasn't feeling *ahem* windy... Now the little bug ger doesn't stop moving!0 -
Tinks- my appetite has fallen off a cliff. I can't finish a meal and what I do eat takes ages. I'm assuming it's because my belly hasn't 'popped' (as everyone keeps telling me) so baby is pushing on everything rather than falling forward and giving organs a bit of space. Of course this is not at all medically/ scientifically validated- it's just how it feels. I was thinking it might be because of my retroverted uterus- if the weight of the baby hasn't brought it forward yet then in my mind it makes sense that it's squishing organs that it shouldn't be just yet!
TBH i'm not hungry anyway which makes a refreshing change from most of my adult life and I am already overweight so I'm not worried that baby won't get what it needs as there's plenty of fat stores to go round! :rotfl:0 -
Thanks for sharing the link TCOD it definitely puts things into perspective for me, the reality of pregnancy is definitely to what I expected.
Tinks my appetite has definitely decreased lately and I was stuffing my face a couple of weeks before.
Daisiegg glad that the sleep has helped you feel better today. I find a bad nights sleep makes me worse the next day.DEBTS ARE BEING DEALT WITH AS BEST WE CAN:heart: Married my prince on 27/08/2011Baby Girl born 21/10/14:D:D:D:D

hi ladies, sorry not been on too much, been crazy busy at work and organising DIY at home.
This thread moves so fast, I thought we could chat on the TTC thread, but this one beats that hands down!
My appetite has returned to normal levels, but I have no problem eating at all. My bump goes all hard up the top after I've eaten, which is probably a taste of things to come.
I think my suspected feeling movement the other week was something else, as I've not really felt anything since. Yesterday I felt what felt like I was being tickled gently quite low down inside, maybe that was it? Didn't last long though. Like you Ali, I'm trying not to worry and keep telling myself all is well. Our scan is 13th June, so still two weeks yet. Excited to see our wee one again!
Also, MrsC, you and your DH sound like you are just what your step-son needs right now, he is lucky to have you.
And lastly, my friend had a wee girl last night, 5 weeks early!!! EEKK! Its her second and her first was two weeks early, so she was getting prepared to go early, but not that early!
Hugs to all those struggling with some not-so-pleasant symptoms, hope they pass quickly. Sorry for the lack of personal's, I will make more effort when not sneakily logging on at work! xx0 -
Oh girls I am all worried again...so what is new?!
Still been having little bits of spotting on and off and not really been bothered about it - been feeling lots of movement and all was fine at the 20 week scan.
This afternoon, though, I went to the loo and when I wiped I had (sorry, tmi!) some very thick, bloody mucus stuff. If you google 'bloody show' (though why would you, unless you are mental like me!) that is exactly what it looked like. It wasn't a huge amount, just like maybe a teaspoon or something. I went and did a few things then went back to the loo again and had a bit more.
I was then slightly concerned as it isn't like my usual bleeding/spotting and I have not had anything like it yet so I called the Early Pregnancy Unit. The receptionist was really nice but said as I am 22 weeks now I am too far for them to see me, but she did get me to speak to a nurse. I expected to be told not to worry, it is probably nothing but the nurse said I need to get checked out todayshe said there is a gap at my stage of pregnancy between the EPU and the next place up and at my stage you have to go to A&E. Aarrrrrrgh.
I really was not that worried and I almost wish I had never phoned. I called my sister (almost doctor, if you remember) to see what she said and she also agreed I should get checked out. She said it is probably fine but the only time she has heard of having discharge like that is when the mucus plug is coming away to signal that labour is imminent. Again she said there is probably nothing to worry about but I need someone to check my cervix is closed. Well, when I went to A&E for my big bleed at 17 weeks they didn't even do that - they said they don't do internal exams at A&E!
She suggested calling my GP because if I can get in to see a female GP they might be able to check my cervix. So I am waiting for a call back from the surgery.
Feel so fed up. Really don't want to have to go to A&E. It is awful there and we waited 4 hours last time only to be sent away anyway. I don't think there is much to worry about. Obviously I can't know. But I am in no pain and have felt movement today, though I can't seem to get her to move right now but I'm sure that is just because I am too focused on it!
I am sick of this sort of thing. I was feeling really happy today after getting loads of sleep, not being sick etc. I have been chatting away to baby girl and ordering baby clothes and generally feeling really good! I almost wish I had just ignored it when I saw it and not called the EPU or my sister or anything. Aaaaargh0 -
Well everyone, thank you for your words of support in what we're going through right now. Unfortunately it looks like we're going to lose our holiday and every single penny that we've paid.
The hotel won't take another 'adult' in the room even though he is a child and the only option we have is to move accommodation. Unfortunately this has all happened within 14 days of travel and if we want to change we need to cancel and rebook, at a loss of 100% of the cost of the holiday. I have appealed to their better nature and explained the circumstances but it doesn't look like they're going to move on it at all£1500 down the tubes as I don't think insurance will cover these circumstances.
Looks like it's going to be a week of wallpaper stripping and painting for me instead of lying with my feet up doing nothing for a week.
It has been suggested that I get a doctors certificate stating I'm unfit to fly but now that some of this will probably be noted against the booking the insurance company will probably get that and won't pay out in any case!
