No. I can't contact a midwife due to a complicated system where my midwives are not from my local hospital. I don't even have a number for a midwife. I did ring the Early Pregnancy Unit and at my stage of pregnancy the place I have to go is A&E :(

Daisy - definitely get checked but try not to worry. I have heard of people losing it early before and it building back up.

MrsC- that is awful :-( . So sorry there is nothing they can do.

Oh Mrs C that is rubbish :( forgive me if this is a completely inappropriate suggestion but is there no one else he can stay with (grandparent, friend?) for a week so you can still go? Sorry, I don't know how old he is or the exact circumstances so I don't know if it would be a remote possibility at all.

Grandparents would probably be quite happy to have him, even my mum offered, but grandparents are having both boys the following week when we're away and it's not fair to ask them to have kids for the longer period of time. Talk about the stress hitting me today, I've spent most of the day in tears!
Next step will be putting it all in writing and seeing if there's anything that can be done....

Daisiegg I agree you need to get checked as it does sound the the plug. It might not be all of it but if your cervix is weak they may need to put a stitch in. If I were you I'd really consider being off work, the more rest you can get the better.

Mrs c I really hope you can plead to them. That's really awful, I bet if they had a double booking or something they wouldnt think twice about moving you.

I'm exhausted. Oh slept in the spare room last night so I slept really well but I've been up since 6am. I've had a nap for an hour but I've slept funny on my arm and it's hurting if I move my socket backwards.
    I've also got a headache :(

I'm off to do some market research tonight. I get paid £55 for going to someone's house for two hours near where I live and talk about buying carpet. Every penny in the pot helps and we will use it to pay for a meal out on sat night for my brothers birthday.

Such an expensive month for us this month, my brother and step dad birthday on the same day, Father's Day for my dad, step dad and oh and step daughters birthday. It will be beans on toast for the rest of the month lol!

Daisiegg really sorry that you're having this again. Is there any chance you can go to where you had your scan and see if someones available to see you or even go to the town where the 'good' hospital is to get checked, if I recall when you had the last A&E visit when you saw someone for the scan they said just say you were in the area and they were closest. Sorry if I've got that wrong. Massive hugs to you.

Mrs C have you spoken to your insurance company about it or just the travel agency. Might be worth getting in touch with your insurance before doing anything else. Really hope you're able to sort something out. You're doing a wonderful thing and it's a shame that you should be punished for it.

  • Hugs to both Daisi and MrsC.

Daisi- isn't there the other hospital that you can go to? Do they have better continuity of care rather than going to A&E (which in my head makes no sense- you need a mw/ gynae-obs to check you out, not Dr oddjob... ;) ) Fingers crossed it's nothing at all.

MrsC- I would definitely try and get a not fit to fly note- even if it's 'stress' that's stated on the note as tbh it doesn't sound like it'd be a fib to me. What travel company is it- name and shame them and maybe see if any other posters in the holiday thread have had any similar situation?

Failing that can you sell the holiday and just change the booking names?

Daisy - I was told if my bleeding got any worse or anything like that post 16 weeks to contact maternity assessment, like where you would go if you thought you were in labour. Is it worth giving them a call as they will have MW and Dr there all the time? Know things are different in different parts of the country though. Might be worth a call and say your GP told you to call them or something?

Big big hugs! Like the others I'm sure its nothing, but you do need to get it checked out.

MrsC - can you book him a 'separate' holiday, i.e same flights, same hotel, but his own room. Then when you get there, alternate beds or the like? Seems a total shame to waste all that money!
