Welcome star! Can't believe your due date is a full 2 months after mine. Time is suddenly moving very fast.

For those that are married and have taken husbands name, have you considered using your maiden name as a middle name? I'm quite keen not to let my name totally drift away, and the word is non-sex specific, but I'm not sure if it's a bit strange. Thoughts?

By the way, I love Natalina as a name. It's unusual and new, without being too wacky and random. Do you know that Nevaeh is becoming a popular name apparently in the US. It's heaven spelt backwards... I must admit I think it's very strange!

Apparently Neveah is popular over here now too! I think it's awful I have to admit. Natalina is lovely though, really pretty.

Having gone through life with an unusual name that I constantly have to spell out for people and people still always get it wrong, I'm determined that my baby will have a nice boring name that there's no alternative spelling for, and preferably that he or she will be able to buy tat with its name on like pencils and those little doorplates for its bedroom :) I was always so jealous of my friends at school who had pencils with their names on. We've chatted a bit about names but not decided anything or made a shortlist. My SIL just had a baby and used my favourite boys name as a middle name (it's a family name) but I still wouldn't hesitate to use it as a first name.

We have to avoid any names beginning or ending with S, as it makes up an unfortunate word with our surname. I won't say what it is as it's rather unusual, but apparently uncle Steve got bullied for his name at school!

Just had a skype with my other SIL who lives in a different country. Her baby is now 4 1/2 months old and he is enormous! He's lovely though, very cute.

Natalina can't be that new if my cousin was named it close to 30 years ago! But I know what you mean - unusual without being silly. It is a Christmas/December name though technically, but I don't suppose that matters! I actually like it a lot too and might have had it on our list if there wasn't ready one in the family.

T2d, I think having your maiden name as a middle name is a nice idea. I wouldn't, but mainly because my maiden name is a traditional Scottish name, but it also can be used as a male first name which (in my opinion) sounds really chavvy! Plus my baby is a girl, and my maiden name is in no danger of dying out. But I think it is a nice idea and not strange at all :)

    Welcome Star.

I really like the name Natalina and think it's a nice thing to use both sister and SIL names together.

I really do like the idea of doing it if it's possible though especially if you want to keep the family name going. I couldn't have my maiden name as a middle name, it would just add to the prospect of bullying for poor sproglet, plus my maiden name is quite common in this area and my Cousin's GF is having a boy so will hopefully carry on the surname that way.

Angel I had the same thing growing up but my name is boring and common but it's always spelt differently on pens etc.

It's daunting trying to give someone you haven't even met properly yet the name they will be called for the rest of their life.

Well I've woken up being able to move quite well today but will be spending the day in the house with my butt either on the couch watching movies or on the bed watching movies while sorting out clothes or playing Lego Hobbit. I think it's a bit of a wake up call for me though to actually get moving and try and get swimming once a week at least or to even find a local aquanatal class as I'm sure that will be more beneficial.

I really want to go to aquanatal but it's £12 per class! Bit steep.

I have my maiden name as my middle name. When we got married I still did not know if I was going to change my name or not. My maiden name will probably die out this generation as everyone seemed to have girls and it's a very unusual name. To the point where people think it's European and I always have to spell it. We'll probably use it as a middle name but I would not say it's a pretty name.

I'm still feeling rubbish and spent the morning in bed. I have a sore throat so can't say it's pregnancy related. I'm not looking forward to going to work tomorrow.

I've emailed a lady that runs aquanatal classes locally to find out the details. There's another centre that run them at £9 per session plus have to book and pay for 5 sessions together and there's also the council run centres that I'm trying to get in touch with. One isn't running them at the moment due to not having an instructor, the other one isn't answering and the last one doesn't run them.

I really should have taken a pamphlet when I was at my 12 week scan as the information was right there lol.

Lucky you Monty you'll have to let us know how you get on with it.

Yay got through to the centre that wasn't picking up. Boo they only do it on a Friday at 11am yeah that's suitable for someone working full time grr.

Oh well will wait and see what the lady comes back with as I don't really want to pay too much for it.
