Home from a days shopping and worn out! Made my first purchase in a Mamas & Papas.....a passport cover for my owl obsessed 18 year old sister! Check me! All the stuff was lovely but I couldn't even justify spending the amount on the 50% off stuff!

Someone has strongly recommended these swaddling blankets to me. Can anyone identify why 4 pieces of cloth cost almost £50?

They just look like giant muslin cloths to me. I wouldn't pay that much for them.

t2d - bit jell. Not been in the mood forever but still miss it :(

    *warning - rant approaching*

I'm often in the mood but have been on 'pelvic rest' since the operation, and mostly before that too! I'm entirely sick of doctors dictating my s3x life, as they have been periodically banning it now for about 18 months for various reasons. But they reluctantly said it was probably ok so gave it a go. I'm on full scale knicker watch again though.

Also I find it annoying when people say 'oh well, small price to pay'. I know that's true, but it feels like just one step to far in the many and varied intrusive invasions of my life for the last few years. I put up with it all and accept everything is needed and I'm grateful for the chances I have - but the teenage grumpy part of me just wants to stamp my feet and say 'at LEAST let me have this part of my life back!'

/end rant. Resuming normal service. :)

Going to go through my post now. Even just did a bit of gardening!

you've all done so much more than me, furthest I've been today is the back garden to peg out and get in the washing this afternoon.
I've basically gotten up at 8, sat around watching tv & on the internet till I got dressed about 11ish. then knitted, sat around and had a nap since I got dressed. This is really bad, usually I go to knitting circle Saturday mornings but because of furbaby didn't go today. My sister & her kids did pop round for about 10 mins this afternoon with my birthday pressy, but left quickly as they were going camping later today, and because the kids were getting the dog excited and she wasn't supposed to be leaping around.
I really must do better tomorrow and get something productive achieved. Oh I have managed to make it to the freezer in the garage to get some stuff out to defrost for today and tomorrow.

My moneysaving tip about swaddling blankets - we bought a double (or maybe king) sized plain fleece blanket from Dunelm for about £6. Cut it up (doesn't even need hemming) into a few swaddle blankets, which also fit the cot as normal blankets. Plus we made some fleece nappy inners from the rest (only useful if you're using washable nappies though). Soooo much cheaper way of doing it!

Not a hugely productive day here, mostly trying to keep an ill toddler happy, though I did make a banana and lemon cake. He has a cold and seems to have passed it onto me too. He fell asleep at 5pm so we've just put him to bed (he woke up long enough to eat a bowl of strawberry icecream). He normally goes to sleep around 8pm and wakes at 7am, so there is a chance we may get a 4am wakeup call tomorrow. Hoping that he's so tired he will sleep a bit longer.

I'm 24 weeks today - off to say hello on the other list, look forwards to seeing you all over there soon x

Well, I cleaned the bathroom (not through choice - the skylight has been left open as I can't reach to close it so after the storm and rain we have had all day the bath was full of muck!) had a long bath, then cleaned the kitchen, put the pizza dough into the bread maker and have cleared/sorted out the main kitchen cupboard. It made me think I really ought to actually take everything out and clean it. I don't know when I last did that! Hoping nesting instinct appears at some point and is strong...I will have a LOT of time off before baby comes so if I can manage not to be lazy I should be able to get lots of cleaning and sorting done!

Now I am sitting on the sofa with some lemonade watching utter trash TV waiting for my sister to emerge, if she ever does. No idea how she puts in so many hours of study. Rather her than me, anyway!

Oh, good luck Bluebell! See you there in a few weeks :)

t2d I can completely understand why you have felt frustrated. I was not put on pelvic rest after my bleeding but since I kept bleeding for ages it was sort of incidental pelvic rest anyway, and we had read lots online saying that you should not have sex with placenta previa so we didn't for a few weeks. I know a few weeks is nothing compared to what you had to go through! But it gave me a taste of how annoying it is. I think the physical side of a relationship is really important and helps with closeness, fun and relaxation. It is one thing not to feel like it but it is another thing to actually be forbidden :( so congratulations on your sexy time today! :D
