Evening ladies, hope everyone had better days today.
My grumpiness has lifted and my little girl has been so active today. I don't usually notice it during the day but she hasn't stopped! I ordered a nice frame off eBay for my 2 scan pics which arrived today so that cheered me up too.
I've got my first consultant appointment tomorrow, I was referred due to LLETZ so assume they will measure my cervix. They also want to see me due to family history of things but all that was checked at the scan so hopefully cervix is all good and I can be discharged back to the midwife!
I cannot stop eating today!! So hungry ALL the time!0 -

Glad all is well :j0 -
A nice young man stood up for me on the train today. I didn't think I was that bad but I was very grateful.
More growing pains and my belly still feels hard.
How is everyone else?

Since sat night until just now, every time I relax on the couch I occasionally get a little bubbly pop feeling right in the middle underneath my belly button. Did it four times sun, twice yest and once just now. I'm certain it's baby. What do you think?
Congrats on pink status daisi

sounds like baby to me, that's where I feel mine as well.0 -
definitely think there's something in the air this week, I've been 'in a mood' at work all this week and we're only on day two. To be honest I had nightmares on sunday about what I was facing this week. Today I was speaking to the person who's role I'm covering and could have gladly sat there in tears, why they couldn't have told me they'd done a piece of work before they left and saved me a couple of days of work is beyond me, and because I'm trying to understand the different parts of the job I'm having to figure out what was done before to know what I need to do this year. Generally I don't mind winging my way round things but on top of all the other challenges and being pregnant it's too much at the moment.0

Hey ladies
Daisie I hope today was OK for you?
Yay for good news Lollypop.
I held off booking a gender scan after all!
I had some bad news this afternoon. I had a blood test last week for slapped cheek as a couple of kids had been diagnosed with it at my little boy's nursery and I think he had it too. The doctor called me this afternoon to say the results were in and I have been exposed to it in the last few weeks and I didn't have prior immunity. I am scared and need to stay away from google I think! I am being referred to a specialist and will have a scan sooner than my scheduled 20 week scan. Looks like I have been infected in the high risk window of pregnancy. As I don't have immunity, there is (from what I can gather from doctor google) a one in 3 risk that I have passed it on to the baby and with that a higher risk of miscarriage and complications (rare, but potentially fatal to the baby). Slapped cheek can apparently cause a condition which puts the baby at life threatening risk of anaemia and fluid build up on organs and whilst some babies can come through it on their own at least one 20 need a blood transfusion which in turn introduces a further risk of miscarriage.
Hopefully I will find out the detail as it affects me and the bean in the next few days, but I can't help feeling doomy and gloomy this evening. I had a good cry in the toilets in work, but have settled myself down since. I keep telling myself there is still a good chance the baby won't be infected and that I will in the best case scenario get some additional scans throughout the pregnancy which show nothing but normal development. I am not sure I believe that possibility this evening though. Maybe tomorrow.
Sorry for bringing the thread down anyway. I am sure everything will be fine ?! Need to step away from goooooogle!

Oh Lixi sorry to hear this
like you say there is every chance things will be ok, but I can completely understand you worrying. I hope you are able to get a scan very soon.
As for me, I made it through first day back at work, but feel utterly wrecked. My lower back/hips/thighs (thighs is a new one, what is that about?!) are absolutely killing me to the point where I am literally hobbling and have to go up and down the stairs on my bum. Hubby has gone away on business so I am just lying on the sofa feeling a bit sorry for myself (what's new?!) Will get an early night ready for work again tomorrow.
Hope everyone is ok, sorry some of us are still feeling a bit cr*ppy.0 -
Ergh, no one EVER rings our doorbell in the evening and somehow this evening two people have come to the door since about 8pm. I had an early bath and I am in a nighty...a really sloppy, strappy nighty with no bra that is not decent to be seen in - the first time it was a lady and she kept ringing so eventually I had to go and answer, she was collecting for Christian Aid. Then only about 20 mins later the doorbell rang again...this time I was in the kitchen and just hid in there...I don't really want to answer the door in my nighty when I am home alone at 8.30pm
it is clearly obvious that someone is home as there are lights on, and two cars in the driveway, and the TV on in the living room...now I am stressing over who it could have been and panicking what if it was a burglar seeing if someone is home before trying to break in?! Lol. I am clearly going mental. It is just SO rare to have anyone ringing our doorbell unless it is with a parcel, which it wouldn't be at 8.30pm. We literally never get door to door salespeople or collectors or anything. And now I get it twice when I am on my own! I still am wondering who the second one was. Argh. I am a crazy person. I can't relax now

Oh Lixi how horrible for you :0(
My friend was telling me that her sister had this during pregnancy although didn't find out it was slapped cheek until a scan at which point it took them a while to work out why baby wasn't quite as expected. She did need a transfusion in the womb however she is now a healthy happy little girl so please try not to worry too much, although I can completely understand why you are!
It's not something I'd heard about as being a risk before unlike chicken pox for example - wonder why there isn't more info?
