12-24 weeks pregnant (part 3)

I can carry over my holidays from this year to next year and I accrue the bank holidays too. Guess it's one perk of working for the local council.
The maternity leave pay I'll be getting is 6 weeks at 90%, 12 weeks at half normal pay plus smp then 21 weeks at smp. I'm probably going to take 7/8 months as we're going to Oz at the end of June so seems a bit daft to go back to work then go on holidays plus it means I can use my holidays to go back gradually.
Having a panic about money now anyway as DH is useless with it and I've only just found out how much he owes but I've now taken control of the repayments so feeling a little better about it.
I still could've murdered him this morning though as every other morning he gets up shuts the door and leaves me to it but this morning when I can actually have a lie in he asks me questions and leaves the door open so I can hear him banging about in the kitchen so I ended up getting up earlier than I normally do grrr.DEBTS ARE BEING DEALT WITH AS BEST WE CAN:heart: Married my prince on 27/08/2011Baby Girl born 21/10/14:D:D:D:D

Oh no
I'm hoping and praying for you that this is something simple and the bleed is elsewhere. Please try to stay calm, I know that's hard but stress isn't good for your baby.
I'll be thinking of you all day xx0 -
Seems to be linked to the horrible back pain as I had that last Thursday before the first bleed, too. I am just clinging to the fact that the midwife found such a good strong heartbeat on Friday and hoping things will be ok. Thanks for the kind wishes - I will update later after the scan.0

Good luck with the scan Daisie x
After posting about finances yesterday, we got a nice surprise late afternoon. DH's flat was for sale or to let - and we have a buyerI think we'll get another BTL at some point but will wait until after the baby is here before we do anything. Of course there's no guarantee at this stage that it will all go through OK, but will keep fingers crossed that it works out. Just off to google for some local solicitors...

Well I am back from the scan and baby is fine
within about 2 seconds of putting the ultrasound wand on she said 'we have an active baby with a beating heart'
They discovered my placenta is very low and is covering the cervix, which is what has caused the bleeding. I am really pleased to have an explanation because I was actually certain they would not find a reason. They said chances are I will get more spotting because of it but only to worry if it gets heavy and soaks a pad.
We are soooooo relieved. Was cheeky and once we knew everything was ok I asked if she could see what it was, and she did try to have a quick look but naughty baby had its hand between its legs! Not bothered - just glad everything was ok.
On another note, the lady doing my scan was heavily pregnant. This made me think two things - firstly, do you reckon she just pops the ultrasound on to have a quick look at her baby whenever she feels like it? Lol. Secondly....she was scanning in the EPU, and I did think, she must get people that she has to give bad news to as well as good news like us. Surely that would be upsetting for her as a pregnant lady as well as upsetting for the person getting given bad news by a heavily pregnant lady? Hmm.
Anyway, so relieved and glad baby is ok and I actually have an explanation for the bleeding. Just need to hope placenta moves up now as if it doesn't you have to have a c section, but apparently it moves in the vast majority of cases so I am not worrying about that yet.
Hope everyone else is doing well - sorry I have been a bit me, me, me recentlyI think there was someone having a scan today - sorry I can't remember who - but hope it was ok!

I've been checking this thread all morning! Hurrah! I'm so relieved for you!
I agree with the bit about her being pg and delivering bad news but they can't do much about that I guess.
Lol I'd be scanning myself if that was my job!0 -
Yay great news Daisiegg! So pleased all is OK and nits just the pesky placenta.
I would well be scanning myself everyday if I was that midwife. I think I'd have to ask to be taken away from it, it would be become an unhealthy obsession.
Monty dog I am laughing at the short shrift you gave the craft guy on another thread0
