Good luck today RG - hoping all your wee embies are still going strong. Are you getting one or two put back?

Vesper - that is rubbish about results, defo read them the riot act.

Love Actually - I would have been delighted with a third as well. My AMH is only 4 so I still can't really believe it.

AFM - feeling fine today, slept like a log last night. I've to call after 1pm to check on progress. Last time we got 50% fertilised so I'm expecting the same. Although nothing about this cycle is like last time so we'll see.

Thanks for all the support ladies, it means a lot to know you are rooting for me & DH. X

Fingers crossed for you. I'm having one embryo put back and hopefully freeze the remaining embryos.

  • SewIt 17 eggs is fantastic, you should get a good few embryos from that :)

RG Good luck with your transfer today! :)

Frozen Hope your scan goes well today & they see loads of follicles :)

Loveactually I always thought if you were nhs funded everything was paid for. Good luck with the injections, you do get used to it pretty quickly :)

Vesper I can't believe they have list your results! I'd be raging if it was me!

Hugs to anyone that needs them & sorry if there is anyone I have missed xx

AFM I triggered at 930pm last night so in for EC tomorrow. I'm not expecting a big haul like RG or SewIt as I only got 7 last time but if I get round about that again & a few develop into good embryos then I will be happy :)!

  • Finally got a reply from NHS Berkshire regarding my questions about how they could ignore NICE guidelines about offering IVF up to the age of 39(I had to send an email to the Ombudsman and copy them in to get a reply). In case any of you are curious, here it is:

In regards to the NICE Clinical Guidelines in general. NICE CG are ‘guidelines’ and the Clinical Commissioning groups need to take them into consideration when planning the care of their population, yet a CCG can decide not to implement a NICE clinical guideline in full if they have a good reason to do so.

The Berkshire CCGs fertility policy aims to support the commissioning of the highest quality, most clinically and cost effective fertility services that will maximise health outcomes in terms of live births and patient/baby safety. During the recent review of the policy, in light of the NICE CG update, it was agreed that the policy would to retain the upper age limit of 35 years of the female partner. This is justified on grounds of clinical and cost effectiveness as female fertility declines, on average, after the age of 35, and therefore the likelihood of a successful pregnancy and live birth following a single IVF treatment cycle is reduced. Thus it does not contravene the Equality Act (2010).
  • Wow 35years old isn't too old, it's strange how different PCTs have different age limits as you would expect them to all be the same. When I looked into ivf a few years ago our PCT age limit was 38 that has now been increased to 40 but you can get one cycle if you are up to 41. It's a shame that trying for a baby comes down to your postcode :( xx

  • Yes, its very sad, I guess I should count myself lucky that we CAN afford a few goes anyway, I can't imagine how upset I'd have been to find that out and not have any option.

    I don't FEEL that old :p

It's such a joke - just look at the differences as to what's included even in a supposedly funded cycle.

Feeling fed up and bitter with the world today lol. CD41 and not even spotting. This is now my longest cycle since Oct 2012. All my potential cycle buddies have moved on :(
