Oh Jazz that sounds painful, but wow, what a result.
Hope you are feeling better today!!

My surrogate starts her daily burserelin (sp?) injections today to get her cycle in line with mine (even though we are only one day part anyhow) and I have a scan next week to make sure I have no cysts or anything before I start short protocol somewhere just after Halloween. However I am weirdly not excited or apprehensive, just flipping stressed and annoyed!!
We have both been fit and well, lost a bunch of weight each at Slimming world and been going to the gym a lot to get in good shape. Then I get an ankle injury courtesy of 10 stone of stupid dog that put me out for 2 weeks, then my surrogate got (and still has) a throat infection that's made her sick and pretty darn unwell and now I've developed some sort of weird sick thing, may be blood sugar related whereas if I don't eat very soon after getting up I throw up. Only happens once a day and always first thing and by god it's annoying. I feel fine just before, and just after but all of sudden I'll get the rumblings of hunger, then feel sick and be sick and then back to normal all within 10 minutes!!!!
Everything is still going ahead fine but it's just so frustrating that things happen now.

Can I've be updated to 'Surrogacy cycle, short protocol, November 2014' please?

Hope everyone else is good today, it Is Friday after all :-)

Jazz - ouch on the cyst but congrats on the bfp.

AFM - it was our panel date on Wednesday to find out if we had been approved to be adopted but it all went horribly wrong! The panel members thought that the report prepared by our social worker was not good enough. There were typos, our names were wrong at least once in the report, it was repetitive and didn't sell us in the best light. As a result our panel date has been deferred until the report can be re-written and put right! What is super frustrating is that once the report was prepared it was checked twice by her manager and then by a quality control manager and no one picked up any problems with it until the day of panel. They have apologised and said that they will put steps in place to ensure it doesn't happen to anyone else but that doesn't help us. So far the process has taken 12 months and is now delayed due to a report that is out of our control - so annoying and upsetting!!!

pickle - take care of yourself my love. I was oddly fine for a few days after our failed cycle and then that baby was brought into our office and I sat outside, bawling my eyes out and posting on here! You may have a delayed reaction, you may not, everyone reacts differently, but whatever happens is normal for you and you just have to feel it and give yourself time.

I also found that I felt very low and sluggish for a couple of weeks - just like I'd felt on down-reg. I'm guessing that after all the fake hormones are taken away and the suppression of your natural hormones stops, it can take a little while for your own hormones to properly kick back in? I came out of it after a couple of weeks and literally felt like I was waking up from a 2 month bad dream. I feel like myself again. During that time, I'm sure some of it was the emotional reaction, but a big chunk was definitely hormonal. This isn't to scare you! Just by way of saying that however you feel in the next few days, you're still not yourself. Don't put any pressure on yourself in terms of how you should be feeling/recovering. Your body and mind have been through a huge ordeal so give yourself time and be selfish. xx

    Congratulations Jazz!

Lisawood - just a thought but have you been taking any tablets in the morning on an empty stomach? I used to take my vitamins in the morning and for ages it was fine but suddenly it used to make me feel really sick just as you describe. Just a thought! Hoping everything runs more smoothly for you from here on in.

Primmer - how frustrating and upsetting for you. Did they give you any indication of how long it might be?

Hi ladies, sorry I've not around for a while, things have been pretty !!!!py here. My Grandpa had a massive stroke last week and we've been told that he has no chance of pulling through, but as he is breathing on his own its a waiting game for the end :(
On more positive note, thankfully, is that I had my hsg earlier in the week, which luckily was clear, the lovely radiographer said the dye wizzed thru. She did say people often find they get a bfp the next month, but unless it makes me ovulate too I'm not holding much hope:o
Big hugs to pickle and anyone else I have missed, I've been struggling to keep up with everyone at the mo. xxx
  • Hi all
So sorry pickle to hear your news.
Lauraw82, hope things get better soon.

  • Evening all!

    Congrats Jazz, fab news :j

Hugs and good vibes to everyone else and all that need them.

Weird day today. Went for my second acupuncture session and I think I'm hooked. Don't know why, it's the weirdest thing, it just really feel different. My bits are cold apparently, so she used a moxa stick (?) which felt lovely.

Anyway, her next patient uses oil to keep her tummy warm so I had a chat to her on the way out and I just wanted to hug her. Probably sounds stupid but apart from friends / family / doctors, I've not spoken to an actual person about it. I know you lot are real people, I'm not saying you aren't :rotfl: , but just to speak to someone felt like 'you look like a normal person that has problems too - that makes me feel normal'

    Does that make sense?!
