I've been looking into it too, would be interested to hear of anyone's experience with it. I've found one near me through acupuncture.org.uk but just need to get around to calling.
As we have been told to get on with it as soon as I've recovered from Lap, Hysto, D&C and whatever else they did whilst they were down there, I'm thinking that anything might help and I've read some really good stuff about it.

Hi ladies, I go to acupuncture and I absolutely love it. My acupuncturist is a fertility specialist, and absolutely lovely (just found her through google). The fertility specialism helps as she knows about all the treatment options, potential side effects of drugs etc and can help with that. I find it incredibly relaxing and supportive. My friend who just got her BFP through ivf had accupuncture throughout the treatment and swears by it. The needles are tiny and you generally can't feel them. Hope that helps.
  • Thanks cwtw, good to hear. Do you feel it helps you for lots of things, did you start to have it specifically for fertility reasons?
  • Hi everyone, I'm new here and would love to join in with the conversation. I'm 32 and my OH is 29, we have been trying for a baby for 15 months with no success. My OH works away and his shift pattern is away for 11 days, home for 3. This is not ideal for baby making! I have recently bought some ovulation testing kits, I'm going to start using them this month to see exactly when I'm ovulating.

Hey there Scottie, welcome to the gang *pins on badge* hopefully your stay with us is short. Have you been to your gp yet? I found tracking OV kept me sane so I recomend it, but you should get your bloods done and get OH tested too.

I've not really considered acupuncture, it did get asked on my IVF forms, I guess because it uses needles..

Good luck for your scan today Pink!

Just wanted to say that I haven't tried acupuncture, I know its meant to help but the thought of being turned into a human pin cushion just freaks me out a little ! I have however tried reflexology. Not sure if its going to do anything to help ttc, although my reflexologist is a fertility specialist, but it is soooo relaxing having someone massage my feet for an hour and I feel so much more chilled after a session its got to be doing me some good!

Feeling much better in myself this week, think I was just a bit down as AF had just arrived. I know its daft, blood tests had shown progesterone levels of 2, so I knew I hadn't ovulated, but still it got me down. But at least now I have my hospital appt date, 24th September, just got to tell OH to book time off work!

Hugs to everyone who needs one, apologies for the essay :o
  • Welcome Scottie. My oh works away sometimes too - not as much as yours though. OPKs are a good idea as it will give you a better understanding of what is going on in your body. However, it does make it really frustrating when you know that today is GO time and your oh is miles away!

Thanks cwtw and others for the advice re accupuncture. I think I'll give it a try. Do you mind me asking - do you sign yourself up for a course of treatments or is it a one off thing? I've looked online and seen a few fertility accupuncturists in my area. I have no idea if they are any good though. I'm wary of spending a fortune on the "fertility industry"
  • Welcome Scottie! Hope you're not with us for long but in the meantime, feel free to ask anything you want :) xx

And good luck at your scan today pink - hope there's lots of lovely follies! xx
