Don't go home. Get the surgery over with if you possibly can. Can't DH go out and ask at the nurse's station (or similar) what's happening?

Can your DH go and find out what's happening? At least get some timescales - if you know there's going to be a wait it doesn't seem as bad as sitting there wondering if you've been forgotten.

I know its really frustrating to wait, but try and stick at it, I know how sad I was in the EPU and how sloooow everything took so I can sympathize a little bit. You will feel better to have it over though.

If DH is being rubbish at LEAST make him go get you a magazine, one of those "my husband is an alien" ones, to try and take your mind off things for a bit. Men like to feel like they are doing something so it will help him too!

Finally home,had to stay in over night,care was terrible and bleeding heavy. It didnt even look like I was going to make it to theatre in time as they gave me something to open my cervix and didnt get down till 6pm They cancelled the list I was on and didnt get any fluid until I had IV in theatre after being nill by mouth. Nurse wasn't best pleased I bleed everwhere,in a lot of pain now,im on anti biotics but they gave no pain relief.

My god PM that's sound horrific I'm so so sorry you had yo go through this. Wish I could do more than a virtual hug. I hope you manage to sleep some.. *big hugs*
