Know what you mean, I had to buy a couple of tests for this cycle as I never bother usually. I found one in the back of the wardrobe when I last sorted it out and it was years out of date. Have no idea how it had ended up in there!

Due to my rather long bleeding I did what you did Pink and went into panic mode about cancer, its why my OH prodded me to go to doctor in the first place, buts its so very unlikely, it could be a million things. You could have a small ovarian cyst (I did) and it could be causing a small amount of bleeding, or it could be a chemical that's never really "happened" but is causing you to bleed longer than you usually do. Do you have any pain or just blood?

I also feared this could mess with my upcoming IVF and asked if I should wait, and they said no need. One doctor said they usually recommend waiting a normal cycle to "try again" but that that was only so they could age any pregnancy properly and I didn't have to wait if I didn't want to.

I know my situation is different but it really could be nothing, try not to worry, but do insist the doctor takes your concerns seriously.

pickle - thank you. :) Really helps to hear from someone who's had something similar. I know I'm being stupid with the cancer fear. I've been told repeatedly that I have a fibroid (it's been slowly getting bigger so it's probably totally normal for it to start to cause symptoms!).

I also read that cervical erosions can cause bleeding, and then I remembered that at a smear ages ago they said I had an erosion. I'd forgotten all about that.

So, two likely causes, or could just be my hormones going squiffy which would be the easiest option as they could sort it out with some pills!

The good thing is I have private medical insurance with DH's work, so if I do need any investigations then they can get done quickly.

I'm so glad to hear it didn't prevent you from starting IVF. :) Depending on what the GP says, I'll give the IVF clinic a call afterwards, or in the next little while, explain what's happened and see if they need to see me again.

Back to taking things one step at a time. :) But still annoyed with my body that after 20 years of perfect AFs, this has happened now!

Got no pain (I don't think - I'm getting a slight twinge in one side of my abdomen when I cough, but so mild I'm not even sure if it's real or I'm imagining it), just very light bleeding.
