They'd definitely have told you if it was GA (I was nil by mouth from midnight) so looks like it'll be sedation.

Ours might be different as it is just a clinic and not attached to a hospital at all, but for our sedation you do the same as for scans, lower clothing off and surgical sheet stuff (paper roll!) over your never regions. And you can eat and drink as normal beforehand. I always leave my socks on ;-)

Sounds a lot more civilised than a backless hospital gown lol. There doesn't seem to be a single part of the process that's the same across the board...guess it keeps us on our toes.

Well now I'm jealous that you might be getting a GA tomorrow lol. That's the only reason I bother with ivf....I do love an anaesthetic!

Ahh. Perhaps it is a GA then!! Blimey, I thought they would have let you know what was going to happen?
Well if it is a GA enjoy the sleep! Quick cannula in the hand and night night sweet dreams for a bit! Before we moved clinics many years ago they did GAs and it was the best part of the whole process. Sigh

I love an anaesthetic also! Been under 14 times I think (not all fertility related!!) only problem I ever get is my blood pressure is always really Low and I have a slow heart rate so after GA I'm sooooo relaxed I set off all the monitors and people come rushing in expecting me to be unconscious or something and I'm just sitting there fine. You would think the big red words on the front of all my notes would have them realising this yet it happens every time!

You will probably get the unflattering backless gown however, that you have to try to hold closed while retaining some dignity, oooo you might even get support socks if you're really lucky!!
