Could not have put it better myself. I wouldn't waste any more time moving back to my flat. Not sure about the law here but if you are married wouldn't the fact that you have not paid 50/50 not make any difference in a divorce situation. You are right life is definitely too short to argue about money but it is also too short to live in a relationship that is obviously making you unhappy or you would not have asked for advice. Good luck for the future whatever you decide

My wife was disabled and unable to work.
I paid all the bills for a period of around 8 years as she had no income that I was aware of.
This worked well and I never asked her about money as she was very ill.
She died a year ago and I was shocked to find she had quite a lot of money - sadly she never had the health to enjoy it.
Even worse I think she may have had a surprise planned.
I will never know.
What matters here is trust - without that you have nothing.
For goodness sake please enjoy what you have.
My mother passed away 6 months before my wife, and money is now no issue for me. its the people lost that matter.
However I cannot put into words how I feel about the losses.
Please think about what you have - the bigger picture.
