So, as well as taking payment and dealing with costumers in the shop, switching other pumps on etc, the attendant has to scrutinise every fill up minutely, from start to finish?

How does this apply to unattended pumps. I am pretty sure that at our local Asda there a 4 pumps that are the pay at pump type, which are operational 24hrs, despite the kiosks being unmanned over night.
