Even with the high volume you're buying you still shouldn't be giving so many negatives. It suggests you're either scamming, complain about even the slightest smallest details, don't read descriptions properly, are buying off the wrong sellers, are stubborn and are not happy with any of a sellers attempts to put things right etc. It sounds as though something needs to change in the way that you buy items from ebay anyway.

Hmmm, from what OP says, let's say she bought 2500 items in the year (v. conservative estimate). 139 negs/neutrals given. A pretty small percentage overall! Don't see anything wrong or 'suspicious ' about this, seems entirely reasonable and within bounds of 'reality' to me! I think a lot of people (bad sellers ?) just want to pick tbh.

I am very sorry but whilst you may be able to speak English correctly and without issue often writing it is completely different. Punctuation makes a HUGE difference to a sentence.

One of my favourite examples of this is:

"I helped my Uncle, Jack, off a horse"
    Or
"I helped my Uncle Jack off a horse".

Janie, that quote on the bottom of theonlywayisup's posts wasn't written by him/her.
It was a comment left by another poster who didn't like the replies that they were getting on a thread that they started and they used that comment to try to stop certain people responding and towiu decided to use it as a signature.
  • I'm definitely pleased that eBay are paying attention to the reports submitted by sellers about buyers.

As an aside, I recently purchased an item which was SNAD, and ended up opening a case, which was resolved amicably and I actually left positive feedback AND DSRs for the seller, so I hope that doesn't reflect badly on me as a buyer under this new system.

The report buyer facility does seem to work.

I had a very unpleasant experience with a large reseller - this business essentially left negative feedback for 90% of people they bought from. I reported this to Ebay (this buyer was breaching my sale terms by trying to bully me into posting a 'collection in person item') and ALL the negative feedback they had left was gone. I took before and after photos, so Ebay do seem to act on reports and are removing feedback left by problem buyers.

Are you serious when you say 139 cases opened in 2 years is not a lot. Ive opened about 5 in 15 years. And i spend a lot on Ebay too.

Can't decide if this is a joke or serious. 139 cases - Ebay should have pulled you after 20.

We have given ONE negative feedback in over ten years. We do not have the quantity of the OP, but they seem to have given an awful lot!

I try to avoid asking a question using the automatic ebay INR by clicking on Other so i can give the seller a chance before opening a case.

For the one saying sold as seen , it was for a louis vuitton handbag he said he bought it for his girlfriend but she had never used it but sent a bag I guess he bought it from a car boot , smells awful of cigarettes and has a lot of make up stains inside , please note that the seller described this item as NEW, when i contacted him explaining the situation he said " sorry mate sold as seen " , what would you do in my place ??

I've never asked for a 50% refund to keep the items as i resell them elsewhere and they must be in very good condition.

I'd leave a neg for that in a shot, can't see why anyone wouldn't really!

I would open a case and state that I wish to return the item for a full refund as the item is not as described. I wouldn't just go giving them negative feedback right away.

Bizarre response and not good Ebaying. Seller is obviously a p-taker and others need to be warned.
