My switch from Halifax completed yesterday. (It has been a long process) .

I have already paid the £800 in and out today so that is one condition met.

With regards to the 2 direct debits. I have switched 2 direct debits that were active on my Halifax account. I was wondering is the switch itself of these direct debits sufficient or must the money be debited from the co-op account first before I am eligible for the incentive? I would quite like to use these direct debits elsewhere.

Do they normally count it if you remove it on the same day? You don't need to leave it in overnight?

Do the T&Cs specify any length of time the money has to stay in the account?

If the £800 credit was your salary how annoyed would you be if they said you couldn't spend any of it until 'tomorrow'?

The pay in that i made today was just precationary anyway. I get paid in a few days so that should double take care of things.

The 2 direct debits will also come off before the month end so i will actually let them come off first. Do you guys reckon I should be safe to remove the direct debits thereafter?

    What does condition 7.2 say?

If I were able to find them on this mobile device then I probably wouldn't have asked. All i can seem to find is a switching guide.

I'll wait until I get home so I can access a laptop or the documents.

According to the T&Cs I can access from my 'mobile device' condition 7.2 says you need to keep the DDs active until you've received the incentive.

The website says you can only get the £100 incentive if you haven't already claimed it since February 2014. However, there is nothing on TopCashBack about any such restrictions to the £40 cashback on offer there. I might give it a go and see what happens...
