Current EDF Fix coming to an end

I agree with the above: all the comp sites checks I have done give a differential of £130-140pa. If it was only £20, the 2017 fix would be a no-brainer.No free lunch, and no free laptop0

I agree.

With so much uncertainty, I would have thought anyone tempted to stay with EDF would chose their June 2015 fix?
With pressure on the Big 6 due to government & opposition pledges between now and May 2015, along with the competition enquiry, and with my EDF deal due to expire April 2014, no way would I elect to go with their 2017 fix, it's way too expensive for me.
Just out of interest cbrpaul, what's your typical gas & electricity use each year in kwh?0 -
EDF April 2014 fix to EDF March 2017 fix = £405 pa more for my usage:eek:0

Hi There...I'm currently on EDF Tarrif ending April 2014, I've signed up to EDF Blue Plus Price Promise June 2015 so as not to fall onto their Standard Tarrif & there's no exit Fees.
Done a Comparison Quote & the First Utility ISave v 18 May 15 is estimated to save me £99.
My usage is under average at 2,589 kWh Elec & 10,338 kWh Gas.
As I pay by Monthly Direct debit I want to keep these payments as low as possible, so is now a good time to switch or does timing not matter?, will First Utility as Uswitch Estimate, take out equal monthly direct debits of £67.19 per month (My estimated usage divided by 12) or do they factor in any extras, and does being a new customer make any difference?
I've been with EDF for a few years now because their fixed tariffs are...or were pretty good, so am pondering over making a switch, but don't want to find that I might be charged more than expected as there is an exit fee with First Utility.
Many Thanks - Avenue0 -
after a fair bit of dithering have just opted for ExtraEnergy fixed price Sept 2015 v2, via EnergyHelpline (thru Quidco, £14 cashback).
estimated saving per year of £139 vs EDF Blue June 2015 & £223 vs EDF standard tariff. First Utility were next cheapest at £27 more than ExtraEnergy, but a shorter fixed period to May 2015.
confirmation email from EnergyHelpline advises 5 weeks for transfer, which could show the amount of uptake they've had for this if people switching just a few days ago were advised 4 weeks for transfer?
fingers x'd for a smooth transfer from EDF now...0 -

I changed from EDF to OVO about a week ago, I just received a letter from they today said I am on there cheaper energy plan starting 7/5/14 and ending in 12 months. Can I change to the new cheaper rate which they started today?0

Have you checked that it really IS cheaper? You should have the figures of the plan you signed up for, get another quote for the new plan and compare the unit and standing charges against each other. I did, and the plan I already signed up for is the cheaper option.0 -

I have just done a check and both standing charges and electric unit charge are the same, however the gas unit charge is dearer on the one I signed up for, so for me the new plan is cheaper.0 -
Just checked and the "new" OVO unit prices are cheaper for both gas and leccy for me,whilst standing charges are the same: makes a difference of ~ £25 on my usage per annum.Might try a phone call first thing tomorrow to see whether they will allow me to move onto the new price structure as my "supply" date on the letter just received,is 30th April.0
