I am staying with EDF and going with their Blue Price fix 2017, I think with the uncertainty ahead, and come 2015, prices could rocket, if not I will simply move, with no penalties!!!

Just had the email from OVO to ask for readings. My switch is due 2nd April.

Are people using the current or beta ovo site to give readings?

I followed the link in the email which took me to the beta site. Everything worked which is a promising start.

Well yes but you will be of course paying more now in the hope you are ahead of any future rises .
Not a bet i was willing to make at EDF 2017 prices as would be paying an extra £140 this next twelve months .

As above, Blue 2017 comes at a considerable premium. What you are effectively doing is buying an expensive insurance policy for 3 years. For my region the average differential vs EDF's 2015 fix is £140 also-and that itself is no longer a competitive tariff against other suppliers.

Thanks for the info. Both EDF and OVO shows that both my Gas and Electricity changes have gone through.

E.On produced their final bill today and Ovo confirmed via Facebook that they had received the confirmed Electricity readings. I was told that logging out of MyOvo and in again would probably show up the Electricity now but not appeared as yet. Hopefully tomorrow.
The OVO site (wiggly time line) says that in 4 to 6 weeks I will have full access to their site.

You'll find things changing sooner than that. I saw some aspects of my account within 5 days of switching.

I started with the current site.

I was originally thinking on staying with EDF and signing up to March 2017 but came to conclusion, based upon my usage, that the "premium" for certainty was far too high.

    The options I considered were:
EDF June 2015 £1859 pa No early exit charges
EDF Mar 2017 £2051 pa No early exit charges
    ExtraEnergy Sept 2015 v2 £1661 pa Early exit £25/tariff
Ovo 12 months fixed £1685 pa Early exit £30/tariff

ExtraEnergy only £53pa (3.3%) higher than the EDF fix that I am leaving.

For EDF 2017 to be cheaper over the period May 2014-March 2017 for me the ExtraEnergy prices would need to be increased by c30% from October 2015 and a further c30% from October 2016. Equivalent to c14% pa increases Oct 2014, Oct 2015, Oct 2016. Hopefully energy prices will not be increasing at these levels.....

Switch process to ExtraEnergy, via EnergyHelpline going smoothly so far:
26 March Signed up to switch from EDF Price Promise April 2014 to ExtraEnergy Sept 2015 v2 tariff via Energyhelpline
28 March Switch confirmation email received from EnergyHelpline
28 March Cashback eligibility email from EnergyHelpline
31 March Welcome letter, Terms & Conditions and FAQ's from ExtraEnergy received via email. All my details, address, estimated usage, annual costs etc as supplied/expected.

Email from ExtraEnergy advised that I should receive Welcome pack in about 4 weeks. All progressing well so far. Apparently meter readings can be supplied online, via email or by phone.

For my own usage, Energyhelpline, which I have always found pretty good, shows only about £70 pa savings for OVO, against EDF Blue June 2015. As I am currently on EDF Blue April 2014, I will probably just transfer to EDF June 2015, despite the projected OVO saving. This is mainly because anything may happen before General Election in May 2015 & THE EDF plan has no cancellation fees. Cancellation fees for OVO may, of course, wipe other any OVO savings. I guess it all boils down to your own usage & 'guesswork'. As usual we customers are never 'winners'!

    Yep your own guesswork .
I guessed that prices would not come down and if any government intervention applied it would be passed on to the consumer . Plus lets say the current government decide to give something back in some way to the consumer . I would bet you vote for us and we will give you this scene rather than here is a discount now vote for us .
So my £70 bet is the opposite of yours .
