• Very well done, especially as I know it really hasn't been easy to do it alone. Congratulations!
Paid off mortgage nine years early in 2013. Now picking and choosing our work to fit in with the rest of our lives!
Still thrifty though, after all these years:D

Thanks for the support guys :) nice to come on and see so many replies.

I think I will get xmas over with and then start OPing again. The problem is I keep seeing things and thinking I could spend it on that instead :o
and now the kids are teens xmas is getting more and more expensive!!

Also I have to OP about £800 on top of standard OP to shave another month and that puts me off for some reason as if its not making a difference which is daft as I know it is.

I know what you mean - to shave another month off now always means finding about £1100 on top of our standard OP. That had put me off for a while, but I've had renewed enthusiasm and momentum of late and I'm hoping to knock another 2 months off over the next year. Obv not all at once:p but the £20/ 50 /100 here and there eventually adds up. I could do with a FLW from eb@y - I was on hols for the last one and missed it :(

• I know every little counts and all that but with my interest being so low I am not saving much by not OPing.
My 10% limit is pointless as well. I am wondering whether to just put it all in savings and do one big one towards the end of my 2yr fixed term.
Or I could just go on holiday :o

• Hi ND, congratulations on getting under £20k, your achievement is incredible, don't lose faith! Don't think of it in terms of shaving months off, work out how much of your overall capital reduction is due to OPs and think where you would be without them, even just the little ones! Just keep swimming!

Any more trips to Norfolk recently?

• Hi Kansas,
I just did my year book on FB and saw my pics from when we went there a couple of times this year and it makes me want to go back. I might book a couple of long weekends :)

Merry Xmas everyone xx

• Just wanted to wish everyone a Happy New year and to say Thank you for helping me on my journey (on this thread and my previous one (for those that know who I was before) ;) ). I know I haven't been on here much lately but tbh I am more careful about what I post on here these days.

Heres hoping we all have a prosperous 2015 :D
