  • I find your diary one of the most Inspiring on this board, what you have achieved is astonishing. Doesn't everyone look at houses, or is it just us MFWs? I am not planning to move for ten years or so but I do think about where I want to be next and what I want to have. I am really looking forward to finding out what you decide with this house and the next.
  • Glad to see you back on here, I wondered where you had gone! You're doing great, just look at the overall picture and its amazing! Stop being so harsh on yourself!

Ditto what everyone else has said. I can only dream that I had managed to match your OP's and be in your position right now.
  • Am below £20k :j:beer::T
Mortgage balance as of Nov 14 payment - £19,725 :D

Percentage of mortgage paid off - 78%
    LTV - 17.93%
% of OP target - a measly 61.5% :( (normally thrashed my target by now)
Months left without any further OPing - 23 (under two years )

OP total - just using the standard OP of £165 included in my MP - £3075/5000.

Hope everyone is doing OK. I dont really have time to come on here much these days. I've normally done my xmas shopping from all the deals on here so missed out on loads this year I bet!

    Well done ND, fantastic :j
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort
    :) Mortgage Balance = £0 :)

Well done ND, I still think you will smash your target and be MF in less than 23 months. You have done brilliantly. Have you decided on moving?

  • Hi
I used to live in kings lynn then downham market - both are in west norfolk.
Kings lynn has the advantage of being close to the wonderful coastline - both quiet and busy resorts with wildlife conservation areas too. Also facilities are good and housing much cheaper than small north norfolk villages. A big issue is the traffic in the summer. The coast road gets snarled up and living in kings lynn helps you to avoid that although being a local you soon find the short cuts. Downham market is a little gem i found - cheaper housing than kings lynn on average and the train line to london is only 80mins to kings cross. Great place - perfect for quiet life, popular with 50+. Very good healthcare facilities too. Coastal towns in west norfolk lack some of the advantages of downham and kings lynn I'd say and is a little isolating in many ways - mobile phone recption is poor in most places in small villages.
Good luck with your search - i very much loved living in norfolk, you won't be disappointed!
  • Its not a definite yet that I will move. I have been given a promotion at work and the kids are settled here. If I moved in a few years they would probably stay. I already dont live near my eldest who has a child and it kills me that I dont see them as much.

The mobile signal is a right pain when we stay there. I could just buy a holiday home ;) Have best of both worlds :)

I'll keep plodding along for now :)

You've done brillantly. loved catching up with diary. Bet you smash the end date too.
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!

Under £20k is fab, well done!! I've only just got down to under £50k, would go down much quicker if I didn't keep taking expensive holidays!

Well done on the promotion as well. :j
