Hi
I am suppose to be going for my third run tonight only problem is on tuesday I found I was getting bored, even though I had my mp3 and my son who was on his bike!
Any ideas on how to keep the boredom at bay, not able to get a running partner.
Thanks

Hi, I've been using the "couch to 5k in 9 weeks" podcast for running, its brill( although I was that unfit it took a little longer than the 9 weeks)
when I first started,in march ,I really struggled to run for 60 seconds, now I can run a good 5k !. There were times when I really couldn't imagine ever being able to run for more than 5 Min's, and there were weeks when I didn't feel as if I was getting anywhere, but don't give up, it does get easier, the aches and pains do go away (eventually) and believe me, when you do manage to run that first 5k the feeling is fantastic !!
P.s forgot to mention, I'm 39 , was slightly over weight and hadn't done any exercise ,what so ever since school, so If I can do it ,you can too !!0 -

I would love a running buddy but can't find one.Life is like a box of chocolates, ya never know what yer gonna get

I've still not managed to get back on the road yet, my knee is still a bit tender though I did manage the gym (low impact only) on Tuesday. Got a meeting the other side of town today so going to test things out with a long walk (just over an hour there and back) and if the knee holds up okay then I'm gonna try to get out again either tomorrow or Sat. At least keeping looking here is keeping me motivated.
Podcast sounds interesting btw, is there a link to it nottslass or did you pay for it?0 -

Hi Belfastgirl, heres the link, hope that you find it as useful as I did.
Its in 9 parts ,you repeat each part 3 times before moving on to the next week.
As I was really unfit at the beginning, I repeated some weeks until I was confident that I would be able to move on to the next, without collapsing at the end !!
From scratch it took me about 12 weeks before I was able to do the Magic K without stopping - but to me, it may as well been a marathon :rotfl:
Good luck and let us know how you are doing.0 -
Sorry, link not working - will try again !0
