  • Poodlecrazy, your absolutely right, an extra mile is probably a bit much, I dont realize how far an extra mile is.

Will do a dummy run in my car and see how much further to go.

Karrie - After my 3 mile jog when I got home my legs felt quite heavy and also had a sorta pins/needles tingly feeling but that has subsided quite soon after.

Was going to go for a run tonight but its pi**ing it down here, would any of you still go?

    stretch, stretch, stretch....

Eat / drink the right things to replace your bodies salt and nutrients that you loose when running, watered down orange juice is great.

I ran for 30 yrs, kept me fit and healthy (knees aren't to good now, but not that bad)

PLUS a great way to watch the sunrise and dispear, peace and quiet + scenerey (if your lucky)

    Good luck with it!!!

    Hey carrie

When you were posting I was trying to do my run. I say trying because my knee gave out on me after about 5x2 min runs. Luckily it gave out before I got too far from home. But I'm still seriously fed up about it, was a beautiful morning and everything. Although if I'm being honest the run wasn't going that well, I think I'm fighting a cold at the minute and my breathing was worse than usual.

    here's to Tuesday...

Spent the whole day yesterday with my feet up and a good book in my hand.

as good an excuse as any to do this :)

Still a bit stiff today but I stopped running the minute I realised it wasn't going away so hopefully haven't done any real damage.

Will give it another go tomorrow...

Belfastgirl - sorry to hear that your knee is giving you pain, it can get really frustrating. Sorry if this is going over old ground, but have you been to one of these running shops that put you on a treadmill to see how you run and to make sure that you get the correct type of shoe?

I went through a period of getting absolutely awful knee pains at a certain distance, there was no way of running through it. After getting some more tailored shoes the pain almost immediately went away - well worth a try!

Poodlecrazy I did do it all right, went to the right shop etc, cos I knew my knees were problematic anyway. Might be worth going back to the podiatrist again to see if orthotics etc I have are good for running though. Still didn't feel right today so I just did my regular no impact workout. Hoping to get out again tomorrow.

    How's everyone else doing?

I am doing ok. My left foot is still numb and now that I am running for longer I am very conscious of it and it becomes uncomfortable. I guess if it doesn't get better soon I should drag myself to the docs.

In a couple of weeks I should be running for 3 mins!! :p What I cannot foresee is ME running non-stop in a 5k!

Hope your knees gets better soon Belfast Girl.
