OMG... hahaha... I can't believe I'm about to bring this up in conversation. I haven't uttered this word for some 20-odd years....

One word - culottes. The louder, the better seemed to be the fashion..... :rotfl::whistle:

  • Culottes!!!!!

CULOTTES!!!!! Oh my god even the WORD!!!!!!!!! It seems....indecent!!!

Had two pairs. One in black, to go with black top and trilby hat and th-i-i-i-ck black eyeliner to go a bit goth.
One in purple to be worn with anglaise lace top and many silver bangles to go bit mystical, bit hippy, a bit 'summer '89'

Neither the goths nor the hippies took me on. Funny that. Wonder why?!

I had a mustard and black pair... very tasty. Went with... well nothing really when you think about it, haha.

Ahh.... summer of '69.... and sitting in the back of my folks' car as we went to a Haven caravan site for ou summer hols, with 'Everything I Do' still clinging on at number one (though the ever so fashionable culottes had disappeared by then I seem to remember)

Sadly to be replaced by shell suits though. Not that I ever owned one of course. And definately not one in white and light purple. Noooo.... Nor did I join in the fashion of 3 different coloured laces (light purple, light green and white) being strung into my white trainers.

  • I only had one pair of culottes. They were bright pink and handed down from my older cousin so at least 4 seasons out of date. Very :money: but not very fashionable. Didn't stop me wearing them with, wait for it...... Hand knitted tops that my mother did on giant knitting needles with a mohair type wool that shed over everything. Classy!!!

I've got my hairspray and very wide toothed comb and I'm ready to do battle. ( although I think I missed dawn by about half an hr and it's raining and I really don't want to get out of bed just yet......)
