Nearly forgot.
I did use Topcashback for the flowers so should get my £2 plus a little more back when it clears so not quite as bad as it could have been....but not as good as it could have been either :rotfl:
And apparently the flowers are lovely :T :j :T

Tiptoes it's this one
The link doesn't seem to work, it' s the Lillian vintage dress from BHS.
since I had a spend day anyway I also topped up on milk, fruit and bought mouldings and no more nails to finish off my kitchen.

SFD number 6 for me today.
Weather was fine this morning so walked to work, caught the bus home (had to walk about 10 mins home from the bus stop), then went out for a run. Was thinking of not going out for a run - but considering I had 2 cream cakes in work today (it was somebody's birthday), I thought I better go out to help work them off! Supper was out of the freezer, and I took packed lunch to work.
As always, on a no spend day, have nothing else to report.
Hope everyone is well, hugs to those who need/want them.
Check in again tomorrow. Have a good Tuesday everyone!0 -

The dress looks lovely. It goes to show you don't need to spend extortionate amounts of money to get a stunning looking wedding dress.
Well done on finding your perfect dress :T :T

Food £22.08/£180.00
This was the only challenge measure that moved yesterday. I now have a good amount of fresh fruit and veg, although still no meal plan to speak ofI'm making bolognese for dinner though so at least I know that will do us today and tomorrow.
Getting paid mid-month can be a PITA for challenges like these, but I had a thought this morning about how I can be more organised in terms of food bargains. My budget is £180 for this month and probably for the coming months as well which is a reduction of £70 since October :j While this means I'm being more careful in terms of shopping for yellow stickers, it means I don't have the wiggle-room for bulk-buying good bargains like I used to. I'm going to open a small savings account and put whatever is leftover from the food budget each month in to that account and keep it for bulk-buys. This could be for when Costco has a good deal on loo rolls or when the yummy tinned tomatoes are 4 for £1.
I have about £40 left in the food account until next Tuesday, so I would love to be able to open the new account with £15. That's the plan then - I'll let you know how I get on0 -
morning all
that dress is lovely thrifty and a great bargain
sfd for me yest and also ltw. would have been hard to spend anything as i left both purses at home and even took my £1 for the trolley out my bag
then went to gym for body attack and 20 min spin. annoyingly they were doing some class thing using the 4 mats in the lobby so all the matts in gym were taken and i couldnt do my abstrying to do some crunches, leg raises and side crunches each day at the gym. will do tonight.
need to raid my drawer to see how much i have left over in my weekly spends bag as need to get some stuff for work (will get reimbursed but forgot to get money from petty cash.) may need to go to a cash machine to get some out.
going to check online banking now to see where i am at :j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j0 -
I've switched my bank account to Halifax and it has gone live today, the £100 hasn't gone in yet thought. Can anyone tell me how long it should take?
Also I have no idea which DD's have come out of my old account and which are still to be paid so am hoping the old account post a closing statement.
I had an interesting conversation with a friend this morning. She is married and works part time, her husband full time and they have two kids 9 & 11. To say they spend money for fun would be an understatement. Anyway her company is moving site 5 miles up the road and as she walks to work now she is refusing point blank to get a little car and travel (25 years of working on her doorstep). This morning she was asking me how they can save money as she will be losing £800+ overtime per month. On Friday they had a Tesco grocery delivery of £160 then on Saturday went to Tesco and spent another £18:eek: and she said they don't have a meal plan and nothing in to make many meals.
OMG where to start. She couldn't believe it when I told her that on Sunday I cooked a chicken in the SC for tea, stripped it down after and boiled the bones for 2 litres of stock. Made chicken and veg soup for today with the stock and some shredded chicken. DH had chicken in his cous cous for lunch Monday and chicken sandwich today, I had coronation chicken sandwich yesterday and Monday's tea was fajitas with more chicken.
So three meals, three lunches from one chicken, admittedly the chicken was bulked out with other ingredients but that is the whole point isn't it.
Today will be a SFD for me.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

Morning all - plans for another sfd today. However DH managed to launch his car into a pothole last night on the way home and something is not right - its gone to the garage this morning. He is very tired, very peeved and ever so slightly (like quite a lot) grumpy. Depending on the verdict from garage it may mean we have to source him a car sooner rather than later which may in turn have consequences for having the house on the market.
Meanwhile... our friends who went to have baby induced on sunday and were sent home who went back yesterday morning have now spent over 24 hours in the hospital and had nothing done - needless to say they are tired, emotionally and physically drained and feeling pretty helpless.
On a slightly better note my friend from Uni asked me to be Godmother to her wee boy - Christening is in April - very excited!!
Anyway need to get some work out the door - hope you all have a good day and those of a praying nature spare a thought for my friends awaiting labour
Love Lagl xx
Edit - ps Dolly 84 - I had a similar conversation with a friend £160 per week on Sainsbugs delivery - gobsmacked that it has been cut to £70 per week by her hubby switching them to Aldee - how the flip do they spend £160 per week on shopping????Debt free on the 28/05/130 -
Could not be bothered making lunch this morning so headed to B+oots as I knew I had around £5 in points after using some points booster coupons last week and it was showing on my receipts. Grabbed a meal deal today and scanned it all, pressing pay with points and it said I did not have enough! I have not been to the shop since I got the points so where they have gone I do not know. I was very annoyed as was planning an SFD! I had to pay by card and have transferred the money from my Paypal account to cover it. Grrr!0

Not sure. I am in the same boat. Brought my ID into branch on the 31st of Jan, got my account on the 5th of Feb (email confirmation), signed up for online banking, got my debit card yesterday (but not the PIN yet) and that's it. My money is still sitting in my old account, no £100 yet. I thought the switch should happen within 7 days, but I guess it depends when they started counting the 7 working days. If I haven't heard by Friday I give them a phone. I guess 7 working day will be over on the 14th for me.DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/250
