A spendy day today, had to nip into town so the kids could buy pick and mix (their own money;)) and I used a voucher in Tescos for finest potatoes and then in Sainsburys a pack of tortilla chips which has resulted in £1 more onto the grocery budget. Also bought a pack of sweets and 3 creme eggs so another £2 spent but this comes from another budget not the grocery one.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

End of week 1! Did 3 fitness sessions - total of 3 miles running and a hour of Nike Training Club. Managed 2 proper NSDs and 2 LSDs. Today is a very spendy day as have to pay conference fee but going to watch rugby from home instead of pub to save a few £s (and lbs!). Food spending so far is £25.68 from budget of £85-100 (former is what I'd like to spend, latter is a more realistic cutback from Jan's £130), have a few meals in the freezer and away for a few days soon so this should all come in under budget nicely.New graduate trying to get debt-free.

Had lunch at a friend's house then took dd to her show rehearsal. Paid up feb's fees, and got 16 rolls of loo roll for £5 in the c00p. Quilted stuff too!
Dd's watching a barbie film and I'm being the perfect mother - am upstairs watching the rugby! I did give her the choice....but she wanted the big telly. So I get to sit in bed and watch in peace. Well, sort of. There's a critter in the loft. I can see the 'nest' and hear the beastie scratching/gnawing/clawing. But by the time I've opened the loft hatch, pulled down the steps and latched them into place, climbed up and got into a vertical position up there without banging my head, well that pesky critter's had aeons to hide. I've no idea how big it is; the nest implies it's bigger than a mouse - maybe a squirrel? We need to have a look outside at that corner of the house to see if there's gap. We need a ladder first! We need daylight. We could also do with fewer strong gusts of wind.
Had a very satisfying clear out of 3 craft drawers last night. Shame there's no visible evidence of any extra space!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Evening all,
Wow it is quiet on here today.
Spend day here today, needed to buy a card and a present so did the food shopping too. Now up to £124.49 from the £180 budget, doesn't it go quickly! This week we didn't seem to need much but all the little bits add up. Really need to pull the purse strings tight to make it to the 25th on budget.
My personal spends budget has also took a hammering as an annual subscription that I had forgotten about came out of the bank. I still have a weekend away and a night out to pay forI seem to struggle with my budgets every month, even though I feel like I am turning down requests to go out and sitting on the sofa instead.

Well a productive day here today. NSD as I didn't leave the house. :j
I decided at the beginning of Feb to count each area I declutter as 1 item decluttered otherwise I would have met my target on day 1 clearing out the food cupboard. As stated earlier in the week I can declutter a lot more on the weekend when I don't have to go to work. As of this morning I was on 3/28 but tonight I have hit 8/28. The 5 areas I tackled today were all in our bedroom but this probably only covers about 25% of the room. OH has promised to help me tomorrow as I also want to do a deep clean as I go through each room. I am being very ruthless and am clearing out as though I am moving and downsizing. This really seems to be working for me :T
I decided to tackle a room at a time and complete it before starting on the next room but that seems to have gone out of the window as I've been working on the kitchen as well. Never mind at least I have my trusty list of all the areas that I need to work on
I love a good list but except for a shopping list they drive OH crazy :rotfl:
That's all from me tonight as I've just had a lovely bath )with lots of essential oils that I'm hoping will keep the zombies at bay or at the least with the amount of lavender oil I used it should send them to sleep :rotfl: ) and am off to bed to read through some posts and get an early night before another busy day tomorrow.
See you all tomorrow.

Went to the wedding venue this morning to discuss a few more things. Now need to book the registrar next week. Otherwise a lazy day with a grumpy child. Fell asleep with him but am up again and just finished painting the kitchen. OH will go out for a few pints and I'll do some more cleaning and tidying in the kitchen. Already organised the undersink cupboard and decluttered my cook book stash. Will maybe post some pics when finished.

Evening all. SFD number 5 for me today. The weather here has been bad again so stayed inside and caught up with the washing and ironing and hoovered. Also made some tasty chocolate brownies. Made my supper out of food I had in the cupboard and fridge. Think I might have a glass (or 2) of wine now.
Tomorrow I need to go food shopping so will get some petrol as well.
Hope everyone is well and warm in this weather. Have a good Sunday everyone and will check in again tomorrow.0 -
Did the weekly shop today so no SFD and no exercise, but a nice day catching up with in laws. Not much else to report... mid month meh. Hurry up 28th, so we can feed the debt monster!
Really hoping to get a run and a swim in tomorrow and get back into fitting some exercise in every day. I think that feeling ill and not exercising has turned into a bit of a vicious circle in that I am not feeling better as I am not getting enough exercise and fresh air now... well that's DH's theory anyway.

Sorry about you fil, Iwillsucceed. I think the others are right, keep tagging along, even if you are not in a position to do much at the moment.
Thanks all of you who have mentioned the cat. I am missing her more today as I have been here all day, she's not taking up all the space when I want to sit down, she's not mithering for food every time I go in the kitchen, such a big space for such a little cat. It's never easy deciding when it's time to let go (had to do this with two of the others) so I am grateful that she decided to quietly drop off in her sleep.
The bag and label came to send the youview box back so 1 more item de-cluttered. Felt good to be out walking but was out of puff by the time I got to the post office. Then walked even further on the way back, looking for a house mother had seen in the paper. It's quite a bit cheaper than this but has an extension with a downstairs bathroom and bedroom so good if she cannot manage the stairs in future. But it was the very last house in the longest street - but handy for bus stop and SM.
Lazy day mostly. I untangled a pile of jumbled tapestry threads and found the fluffy duster on a stick so went round attacking things but it was more to make me feel like I was doing something. Managed to rescue the washing before it started chucking it down. took out turkey curry, turkey stew and turkey and sweetcorn soup (all with loads of veg and lentils/barley). Why did I get so much turkey? Had turkey stew - cos its lovely, warm and comforting.
So this week's motto is 'just a bit'. Keep trying to go for a walk every day, even if it's just a bit. Do something, just a bit. All the bits will add up, I hope. Main business for this week is to get DS1's stuff ready for the big move. Thursday and Friday we are going to move as much furniture into the hall and front room ready for the van. One evening we have to re-attempt putting together the big wardrobe (currently inside my bed) abandoned last week as he had to spend his day off fending off evil lazy bailiffs. I've already washed two complete sets of bedding (he's going to use a sleeping bag until the move or stay at girlfriend's (not seen him since 6.30 Friday morning. So maximum de-clutter points for next weekend. Two whole rooms and half the kitchen cupboards (beat that anybody? new challenge) He has asked if he can leave dirty laundry with me till they can get get a washing machine(2 weeks?) He's going to go through all his t-shirts to see which can go to the charity shop - I've said I will take them (to the jumbo wheelie bin at the library). then there's all the stuff I have said he can have 'for now' - like one of the couches. I just thought the less stuff I had the better it will look when the house is up for sale and if there are no places for stuff to hide, it will have to get sorted. And it's easier to paint if you don't have to move stuff all the time.
Now I just need a few sacks of energy - anyone know where I can get some? Good night to all (trying to get to bed before 9pm 3 times and before 10pm 5 times). My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0
