I miss a day and miss all the good stuff well am still sharing lol
I am 33 years old currently trying to get divorced from my ex. Whom I have a 16yr old step son and two daughter's which are 12 and 10. I live in my own house end terraced in dundee and live with my girls my partner and my step daughter(who visits every other weekend) who is 8 and we would like 1 more.
Anyway a spend day today more medicines and juice still feel awful
Hello, fellow Dundonian
Today will be a spend day as I will do the weekly shop tonight. We'll have gyros for tea and need a few things anyway so combine it with the big shop.
I too find it really interesting to read the "show and tell" and see how this compares to the image we had in our head. Sometimes user names can be misleading (I guess not that unintentional on an anonymous board. I always thought dolly84 was a young lass born when I started school i.e. 1984. Some pretty amazing life stories too, mother nerd.
Gonna see the wedding venue again tomorrow and hopefully can do a bit more detailed organising/planning/booking of things after that.DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/250 -
MORNING EVERYBODY!!!
"Celebrate good times - It's FRIDAY"....:j:j:j.. I got drenched on the way to the train station. And then nearly froze to death on the tube cause some twit thinks air-con in winter is ideal commuting conditions! Oh hang on .. that same person must also work in my office....:rotfl:
So walkies this morning wasn't so fun. Apparently my waterproof coat ain't as waterproof as I thought.:D:D
So check you all out sharing bits about yourselves - Mothernerd are you telling me that you bought a house without a mortgage and paid it off about 2 years later when you were a youngster..? Impressive stuff and what a busy (abeit fulfillinf) life you have had. It's a great read when you post! ....although anyone wishing to compliment / comment or question please don't "quote" the entirety of a post if it's a very long one... thanks..:p
Siouxsie you are right about Stewby being a girl - you get a pat on the back! Stewby thank you for sharing though ... and for everybody sharing there stories. It's fun to think what you all might look like - although Siouxsie I assume you are my age, long brown hair and a bit of a hippy - no?
So I need to eBay more this weekend. I like to start them on a Saturday night so then end on a Saturday night and people are at home and can bid. Minus fees I now have £169 in paypal.
I have OT on Sunday with another next Sunday but this is NOT enough for one month. I am awaiting the declaration of two more and I think that might be today - fingers crossed although it's gonna be harder since I live that little farther away..
Just thought I would mention... a guy in my office is finishing work today. For good. He and his wife have sold their house and are going to buy a pub or something in the countryside... he has come to work, today being his last day, in his pyjamas and dressing gown. :T:T:T
And Mummy fed Mr Pheasant in the garden this morning and he brought Mrs Phesant with him...altogether now. ... awwwwwwwwwwwwwww!“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent".0 -
Hi all,
Not a SFD I'm afraind. Treating myself & Hubby to a butty out at lunchtime as we're off on holiday tomorrow and i really couldn't be bothered making any this morning. I'm definitely in holiday mode, roll on 5pm. Also going to buy some pies from the market to bung in the oven tonight with frozen chips for tea for a takeaway Friday (all the takeaways near us now are pants!)
I'm also a member of a Christmas thread and when I was in London in December and saw people loaded down with Christmas Shop bags or at the markets, I kept thinking "I wonder if she's on that thread?"
Weird, huh! I wonder if we need to visualise forum users to make them seem more real...0 -
Hullo peoples
Hope you are all well and good..
Checking in to report SFD no 4 inclusive of today. I shan't be leaving the house for the remainder of the day until I start my night shift so my purse will stay well and truly shut
4 SFD achieved but not without it's trials and tribulations! The Z:eek:mbies gave me a hard time mid week by sending me telepathic brainwaves to take a teeny weeny look at autotrader where they had planted a local, low mileage Must Have car! And so a battle of wills began which led to a very tossy turny night mulling over whether I wanted to exchange debt freedom for a Z:eek:mbie filled car.. I got up the next day half transformed and riddled with rage fever ready to make my grand purchase but when I got to the garage I found that the Zoms had got to someone else first and the car had been sold! :rotfl:A lucky escape it was indeed! :A
Its been interesting reading all your posts to date and learning more about the people sharing this part of our journey..
Mothernerd, I take my hat off to you :A
I am a 39 year old gal married to my jobI have no children, pets or debts although I occasionally see and spoil my adorable fluffy 'step cat' from my previous relationship and although I have a mortgage I view this as my savings/investment/pension as opposed to debt. And Kat we may well be neighbours
Hope you all have a lovely day..

Hey all. Great reading about everyone's stories... My computer died this morning - could be the monitor... Both on their way out. Getting a second hand one in March but have to go until then without. I spend way too much time playing games anyhow lol. Escapism from the hamster wheel of life - keeps me sane! It does mean i will have to use my phone and log on when i can. It's fiddly though not impossible.
Aiming for SFD 3 today and gonna go to the gym too. Had 2 days feeling really low - am blaming the weather and total lack of sun!!! On the up today despite computer death so that's good. Catch you all soon x⭐ DEBT FREE : 18/02/2025 ⭐

Hi all. A SFD planned here today, have already done my exercise for the day and will do another 20 minutes later in the form of the school run.
Pizza night tonight, homemade of course, will get the dough on the go later.
Not sure what to expect weather wise this weekend but I have told the kids they can wash my car this weekend and bizzarely they are looking forward to that. Am also hoping to get to the woods and collect some free logs, I collected some of someones garden wall (left there for that reason) earlier this week from a tree they had had trimmed and that has fueled my need to get more.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

Oh no, just spend money on ebay. I'm in my nesting phase, lol. I painted some more of the kitchen yesterday and all I can think of today at work is what I now need to clean after finishing the painting tonight and how to rearrange things to use the space better etc. So I bought to invisible shelves for my cook books to make space on the work top and a potato/onion storage bag (keep them in a box in the conservatory just now, but that will be too warm soon). 20 quid total and all rather usefulDEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/250

Afternoon all, sfd today, cleaned the house up, went to a meeting and accidently agreed to cook beef casserole and trimmings for 50 ish people towards the end of march - not sure quite how that happened but on we go!
Dd and Ds have a joint playdate here in a mo - their besties are also brother and sister - flippin convenient that!
Anyway -love to all and batten down the hatches over the weekend - its going to blow - again

PS almost forgot -walked 2.5 miles with the dog this am - exercise 3 complete!Debt free on the 28/05/130 -
Having divided the month into 3ish, I'm nearing the end of the first 3rd and most of my mini-goals have been done :j.
dh is out again tonight so I'll be turning the heating off early. It's only on 16c anyway, but I do find it strangely satisfying to manually switch it off.I can crack on with more knitting - if dd complies with going to sleep...
Looking over the monthly budget, I realise that, of the allocated monies, nearly £500 is 'malleable'. It's not all save-able (getting in quick with that before kat pounces with one of her probing questions!) but I hope not to need to use it all.
Think I'll soon be getting to the 'meh' phase of Feb. Tho it may not happen because just 1 more week then 1/2 term is upon us, the once we're the other side, it's just 5 days to payday and the money shuffle.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Think I am starting to feel confident today will be a SFD :T just had home made McDonalds with the kids, we used to "treat" them to a real one most Fridays but this resulted in us having KFC so nearly £20 for the four of us. What we do at home is much cheaper, healthier and I think tastier as well.
Hubby is doing overtime tomorrow, the money will be handy but do wish we got more time all four of us together, even two days a week goes too quickly so one is pants. Not sure what me and the boys will get up to but we have lots of crafty stuff and may have enough space in the cake tons to do a bit more baking if the weather isn't good enough to get out on their bikes.
Think Saturday and Sunday will both be spend days as need more ginger for my tea tomorrow (will try and pick up any other bits we'll be needing for the next few days) and have promised the boys we can swimming on Sunday. Going to try to really rack my brains for anything we need next week so I don't waste lots of SFD's for silly little bits and bobs I have forgotten.
