ooo, I love this! it's so funny to read how close or far I have been in my imaginings about you all! and so lovely to know you all a little bit more!

Well, as for me, I am 36 and married with 2 cats. We got married last May and we rent our little house in our little village in North Yorkshire. I did own a house near Manchester way back when with an ex (I was 25) but I left him and the house and moved to London to find my fortune. Well, sort of! I work full time in my profession.

SFD today... also the realisation that we should pay off another cc at the end of this month, which only leaves us with 2 cc's and a loan. Ok, they are the biggest total cards, but that will feel like an achievement down from 5 and an overdraft!

aw, going back to read all the 'sharing posts' again to re-adjust my mental images! love it!

Yay, thank you all for sharing, its lovely to hear where you all are and your situations. I think MrsGSR is being cautious with her location in case zombies can read MSE!

Wow mothernerd, what great things you have done with your life, opening your home to so many. I am hoping that OH and I will be in a position to foster or adopt in the next 10 years or so. We are not yet convinced about having our own children but would love to have a family, and help others. We'll have to see what happens.

Today has been a very weird day. Work is really unsettled but should be settled or at least finalised by next Tuesday. But the great news is that OH got a promotion at work :) He won't start until a replacement for him has been found but it is more money and because of the change of hours, it will hopefully mean that we can reduce the amount we rely on a dog sitter and therefore reduce our outgoings too :)

Today has been a spend day as I treated OH to the tune of £20. We would usually have had a takeaway but being as I'm on my diet, I'm not allowed :( So I bought him lots of treats with the money instead.

Didn't do any exercise today as had another 11 hour day and the weather was awful. I'm excited for tomorrow and the chance to get out in the fresh air. Plus Saturday and Sunday, I should be able to go to the gym :)

No delcuttering but only one week and one day until half term so I will use half term to have a good declutter, tidy and spring clean.

    Night all

I have been missing for a few days and have come back to you all doing show and tell so will have to join in.

I am 43, married with an old most 4 year old son. I live in a semi in the north east and work full time but due to be made redundant in a few months time. Oh mustn't forget the jack Russell and the 3 fish:). We are debt free except for a mortgage and second mortgage. We are aiming to clear the second mortgage this year by saving hard:)

My food budget has gone:eek: and I am doing terrible on NSD. I am blaming it on my new job role which has crazy hours and all my usual routines have gone to pot.

Will do some number crunching at the weekend and regroup.

Good news is I should earn about £600 in travel allowance over the next few months.

Another SFD and one more bag of de-cluttered stuff.

I am originally from Lancashire but currently living in Hertfordshire in a 3 bedroom house with DH,DD 19 who is finally undertaking an apprenticeship in health and social care after several years of self destruction after the death of my mother, DS 17 who is in his last year at college and currently checking out uni's for the Autumn (the very thought makes me breakout in a cold sweat) we have a delicious Labrador and yummy kittycat (Felix type) I'm 50 and in full time employment.

Hoping for another SFD tomorrow if i can avoid hitting the bottle to celebrate the weekend.

  • Evening all. A spendy day for me - £1.09 in Tesco on food, £3 in £ shop on sweets, and £9.98 in TK Maxx on a baking tin and a baking tray - have a lovely recipe for chocolate brownies which I want to try out this weekend - and according to the weather forecast the storms are back on Friday night/Saturday so I won't be venturing very far!

Hoping for a couple of SFDs for the next couple of days.

On to show and tell - I'm a 45 year old female, with her own terraced house (with a mortgage) in a Devon city (there are only 2 cities in Devon so take your pick!). I'm single, with no children or pets - although am considering getting a cat (that makes me sound like such a spinster!). I have a temporary job as I was made redundant last year - fingers crossed I will be there for the foreseeable future.

Hope everyone is well, have a good Friday everyone, and will check in tomorrow.

I'm in my forties, living with DH & 2 kids in the country, but a townie by birth.

My debt is my mortgage & Im currently learning the joy of "enough" (also known as appreciating what one has and not always wanting more).

A NSD today. Sort of had one yesterday, but had to buy bread for a (budgeted) lunch, after the person on bread duty couldn't make it.

Having a few health problems at the mo which is a pain, but is also stopping me spending.... Every cloud!

I spent a little money yesterday getting food (and a massive pot of frozen yoghurt for my aching throat).

I still feel like death and have missed three days of work this week :( I'm meant to be going to London tomorrow for a weekend away with friends but I'm pretty sure I won't go now :(

Has been really nice to read everyone's "show and tells". New here so hadn't had time to build up pictures of people (I am another one who does this without trying).

Really struggling to get the hang of NSD's can't seem to pre empty what we are going to need, some of this has been down to being unwell and needing painkillers and lemons to make lemon and ginger drink (now need ginger which they didn't have in lidl which is where I ended up loosing a NSD yesterday). I have tried to think really hard each time I end up deciding I need to go to the shop what I might need on the next few days but always appear to forget something .

Picked up some YS bits when I was in Lidl yesterday, things I don't need probably this month at all but may change my meal plan for the end of the month a bit but should also help my budget next month. Although a good chunk of my grocery budget has gone now I should easily be able to stay within it. I have also paid into my "Pot" for the first time in a long while, it is for presents, road tax, car maintenance, emergencies etc. We have had to buy presents for 4 children's birthday parties (1 down 3 to go) my sisters birthday and tax my husbands car this month but so far managed to do this out of living off money by cutting back.

So feeling positive overall just need to learn how to start racking up some NSD's - any tips great fully received.

    Debt-free and Proud!
    Morning!
Today was a planned spend day to the market but due to the fact it's raining heavily not a chance! Thinking about it, I didn't need the items desperately so it's another SFD.
Nothing planned for today other than staying in the warm! Who else finds that SFDs are the ones where they have nothing much to say?
