  • Yesterday I ended up having to buy bread and some chicken for dinner. The bread here really is a disaster as it goes hard very quickly. I also realised that I needed more chicken for dinner - a small roast chicken does not stretch to 2 meals for 5 people, not with teenagers anyway!

I did get out for a nice walk though so that was some exercise.

    Food 129.53/440.
    NSD 1/15
    Exercise 3/20.

So, today is one of my planned nights out - I'm hoping not to spend too much but it is a group outing and I imagine we'll split it between us.
Hope everyone has a nice day

  • Well GOOD MORNING Slayers! (Best word so far to describe us yes?)..

I am super proud of myself! Walked home last night from the train station after a late Archery session and got to bed at 0040 after getting my things together for today and was back up at 0430 for another walk into work. Feel quite invigorated but I have a war wound (blister) and stiff limbs.... although LAGL it seems your war wound might be more serious? Any missing digits?

Moggy was fascinated by the conservatory last night - wonder if she can see all the beasties running around - so I left her in there so she didn't distub the minimal sleep I have.

Can't wait to get home today and get in my pj's by 1700! Ha!

Missyv30 - what a palava! I am sure it's heartbreaking for your OH to deal with this and I really hope you get the help you need!

MarsBarGirl - could I bother you to inbox with me with how you went about this and what part of the country you are in. I was looking at a camper van that I could move but would love to know more about other options! But I can see the appeal!!!

MrsGSR - I can never make fluffy bread rolls, they always come out as bricks!

Right - off to get a few things done. Aiming for an SFD as there is nothing I need right now. Need to meal plan a bit more and might paste random ingrediants on Bookface that will need suggestions...

    Onwards and Upwards!!

NSK that is not enough sleep! You'll make yourself ill girl!

Hoping for a SFD today but I do need to get my provisional driving license sorted and am also looking at buying a ClearBlue Fertility Monitor on Ebay. Will try and wait until tomorrow for both though as I'm planning to go for a cheap tea with OH while PIL practise putting DS to bed.

    Have happy days all x

Update - bought the fertility monitor, £64 including test sticks, would have been over £100 from Boots so that's worth it. May as well order the license as well now then!

Hello, back from our weekend away and gosh this thread moves fast again. Caught up to page 11, do the rest soon. Quick update first.

Saved quite a lot of money by having a Sainsburys gift card that paid for food and drink over the weekend. But also stopped at a cafe each way (4 hour drive, needed a stop, and I know I should've packed a picnic at least one way). Also contributed to the fuel.

Yesterday I did two big shops. One in Aldi for most of my meat and veg etc. Then went to Tesco for YS, wipes (no where cheaper), nappies etc. Also got bargain side of salmon for £12 (usually £24). That's still expensive but I get loads of meals out of it and we hadn't one in ages (buying it any other way is even less economical). Also came back from my friend with HM granola and south african recipe rusks. That's half our budget on food gone but meat and some other stuff is covered for two weeks at least.

Also gonna have £11 tesco vouchers towards the next shop.

Saw some posts earlier about Kenwoods and bread makers. I inherited my 1974 Kenwood chef from my fiance's mum and love it. Weighs a ton though. I got a cheap Tesco break maker two years ago for my birthday but don't use it much any more but will start again when on Maternity leave I think.

Also decided to give up cycling today. My bike isn't that safe anymore and I can't be bothered to clean and fix it (esp back brake). Plus the weather is horrendous up here just now and it's time to give up when you cycle with all your might while people are strolling along next you. So not sure what to do for exercise now. Although at 34 weeks even just doing the chores and getting the kitchen painted feels like exercise ;)

Hi all. Today will be a SFD. I am making bread and spicy mexican soup for tea, I need something wholesome and warming as I am full of cold like many of you and feel really yuk.

We got our Sainsbobs delivery last night and I was horrified to find that the broccoli I had ordered at 94p ended up being £1.61, I know they estimate but good heavens that's crazy, I told the driver he could take it back and he said keep it and I will do a refund and say it was squashed - good man. Anyway I have decided to just get things with a set price on my deliveries so tins, packets, laundry items etc and get my fresh things at Asda.

  • Morning everyone!

Congrats on the move Kat - hope this one works out well for you!

TiptoesDB - awesome news that we'll be crossing the finishing line together!!! Keep up the good work!

Stewby made me laugh - you sleep during the day so zombies hopefully will think no one is at home hehee!!! Had visions of them peeking through the letter box and shouting cooo-eee!!!

Yesterday was my first SFD hoorah! Had a productive day and got out all the boxes from under the bed... I now have 1 large bin bag of rubbish, and 2 boxes of charity shop stuff to go. I've still got about 3 boxes of counselling notes to look through and sort... and need some kind of action plan to get back into it as I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed with it all...

Hit gym session number 2 of the month yesterday as well... and planning on another one later today!

    Catch you all laters :)

  • Morning. Have done food shopping today, purely cos I wanted to buy a carbon monoxide monitor and didn't want to lose my sfd so am clustering my spends today.
Have been busy decluttering and made £60 yesterday. So been worth my while. The house is slowly getting tidier and have just claimed £1.85 in asda vouchers for their price guarantee. Desperate for them to build a local aldi cos at the minute the travel costs outweigh the savings.
Hoping to do some redecorating cos the house needs refreshing after no diy and 2 small kids running round for last 3 years. Hmmmm do I buy the paint today or hold out till next month?
Off to sell some old clothing too at the cash for clothes depo.
Feeling good. Will update totals later. L2B.x

Spendy day today, but good value.

A did a big shop in ald1 and filled one of their big trolleys. Came to £70, so v pleased with that. Then put the receipt through mysupermarket.c0m and found that it would have been £18 more expensive in mr M and £30 more in Waitr0se (which are the only supermarkets anywhere near me). Well chuffed. :-)

A lovely friend then came and collected a car full of stuff for the charity shop, so I'm significantly decluttered too.

Now if only I could stop eating (cheap) chocolate mousse and do some exercise, I'd be doing really well, lol!
