Don't apologise. Is your original counsellor still available? It may be that you could talk things through with them, as it was one you trusted. Some things are too big and/or too close to think them through on your own. I would have thought it was still part of the grieving process; a different aspect of the same loss. x

No they aren't - they've stopped doing it and also I don't live in the same town (although hope to be by the summer). I will be in a catch 22 situation - I really want to move but can't afford the DIY bits needed to get the house ready for sale and the counselling. I guess I need to work out what's more important.

Thank you Narco & Roxy xx
  • Not quite sure which way round to do things today - woke up late so am behind to start off with, got to go out at 12.15 pm and won't be back till gone 4. Anyway, to do .....

Walkies with Henry (left over from yesterday)
    Today's reception room decluttering
Forms to fill in to take with me this pm (FIRST) DONE
    Kitchen basics from yesterday
    Bathroom basics from today
    HHI

    Right, onward and upward!

As you might have gathered from the "onward and upward!" bit of the above, I was feeling quite positive about getting at least some of the list done, but "the best laid plans of mice and men" etc. The form filling-in (never a favourite job at the best of times) took longer than expected and by the time it was finished, it was nearly time to go out. Got back at about 4.25, put bins outside for tomorrow's collection; decluttered tea; washed up and then out again. Am at home all day tomorrow, so here's hoping for a better outcome.

LW, Pigpen and anyone else with health issues: Please take care of yourselves.

    Good night all.

    Good night all.
  • Hi all no flying done today as I woke with a migraine. Then left for work at 10.30 and just got home! Hoping to carry a bit of today's over to tomorrow.

Painting, glossing & wallpapering. My dad is lending me the money to get the guttering done (my family don't know I'm moving!) but it all adds up. Counselling I would expect to be £30 to £40 an hour (or 2 tins of paint) plus I need to find someone that does CBT (the counselling I had before) I had humanistic counselling and it wasn't for me.

Here it seems humanistic counselling rules and CBT is hard to find unfortunately.

Oh Deco sweetie you sound so sad but I'm glad you felt you could share with us. Grief is a funny old thing and you have given all of us great support and guidance and we will be here for you too. This is a path you have to take and from things you have said in the past you have not been able to share it with your OHs family. You have been very strong for a long time and this is another stage in making some sense of it all. It seems so difficult because OH is not here to discuss it with, it is so very final but please remember lots of things don't get resolved in relationships when both partners are still here. Have a big squishy hug and PM me any time you need to, I'll check my box has space tomorrow xxxx

Where are you in the world, I have a tub of unused white paint - perhaps others close by have bits we can pay forward. Feel free to PM.

Dusty... how is DS3 feeling now? I hope he is a happier little man and you got to the bottom of his troubles

Deco.. recognising these feelings and accepting things were as they were and as they are now is a step forward. We each work through grief in different ways over different time spans but you are making progress even if right now it doesn't seem like you are. How you manage to pick up and carry on after the loss of someone you love I simply don't know.. you are strong and brave and I admire all of you who have survived such a loss. I am also just a pm away if you need an ear!

Hello everyone, realised I didn't post my list yesterday but actually did quite well :j My DH has even commented on my new cleaning frenzy although he insists I'm nesting! In reality I just want to live in a tidy house as it gets me so down when it piles up and I cant relax when there is clutter everywhere. Also all our friends houses are immaculate so feel some pressure to keep on top of it, although I'm the only one who works full time.

Anyway enough rambling.. here is my update for yesterday and my plan for today.

    Extras

[STRIKE]Dust any surfaces which need it[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]Clear HOTSPOTS[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]Put clean washing away[/STRIKE]

Wednesday - Living Room, hall and stairs
    Level One
Wash any throws or cushion covers that need it
    [STRIKE]Hoover floors including the stairs[/STRIKE]
    Level Two
    Clean a window or two
    Clear and wipe coffee table
    Level Three
Declutter anything that doesn't belong in this room
Give all the remote controls and phones a wipe
    Dust the mantle and tv
    Extras
    Do a load of washing
recycle any old newspapers/magazines/catalogues (eg Argos)

Going to see if I have access at work today so I can keep up with the thread. Hugs to those in need x

    Good morning.

Yesterday I got the dailies done and two drawers in the kitchen emptied. Three drawers in the living room sorted and carp binned. Got a bit of shredding to do.

DD is coming for lunch today and my blinds are coming back after being shortened for the kitchen window. Temperature in kitchen gone up since I got the wall done last week. Then got friends coming tonight.

    Lamewolf Extra hugs and sticks

Decogecko. Thinking of you and extra hugs too.

Hugs, spoons and sticks where needed.
