no reason particularly just that the OP put it as an option in the poll so I was answering that bit of it.why would he offer you some of the money for the ring that he bought???
To the OP I would move on - if she doesn't want to give it back willingly then there's nothing you can do about it. Had she died the ring would form part of her estate and you would have no claim on it - therefore in legal terms it is hers no matter what it symbolises to you. If she has thrown the ring at you or in some way rejected it then that's maybe different but if it's never come up then there's no way to prove that it was anything other than a gift and you'll just get more annoyed and more bitter about it.0 -
i have to admit i kept mine, then we got back together and he brought me another one. we split up again and i kept that one too

although i kept them not only coz they are beautiful but we have 2 children together and i thought it would be nice to give 1 each to the children when they are older as they were the only decent things he brought me.. actually probably the only 2 things he brought me lolIt only seems kinky the first time.. :A0 -
tell her if she wants to keep it that much she can give you what you paid for it!!!
especially with the fact that she has ended it
She is saying it is my fault she has ended it, so why should she give it back.
So really, I am screwed.... if she decides to keep it, there is nothing i can do. I will just added it on to the credit cards & loans that are in my name!
I can't really believe she won't give it back! I was starting to beleive it was me who was wrong!!!0 -
Out of interest, how long had you two been together?0

And also why has the poll been biased from the start?
The man is a tight git, and yet from a womans perspective its his let him keep it, also the OP has just split up and wants to make a fast buck and just wants our permission to ease her concience if she keeps the ring.
harold - its the opposite!!! OP is the guy who wants back the ring he bought0 -
Harold, have you been on the sauce?0
