Cheery's buttling diary: tea in one hand, plant pot in the other, running shoes on

Thank you both
Sorry to hear about your dad Starnac
Had a good chat to Al Anon person this afternoon about stuff which has helped
Run this morning was a fiasco!! GPS watch had lost all its charge overnight  so waited AGES for it to charge again before I went. Route SO hilly I got rather disheartened at going so slowly. Watch conked out again at 12 miles so I lost all the data  Then only had 10 mins for a shower before having to cycle off to the other side of town!
So I'm exhausted, but have ticked a 14 ish mile run off the list even if it wasn't very pleasant, and spent a nice afternoon catching up with some friends(and yes, KC, it did indeed involve tea and cake!)
I've not long got in - it's VERY uphill back to my house so I had to walk most of it which took the best part of a hour. I've got the water on for a bath but quite frankly I'm not sure I'll stay awake long enough for it to heat up:rotfl:
Money...
Tues 2nd
£2 big issue
£1.60 tea at station
80p fruit pastilles for run
Wed 3rd
£4 tea and cake in cafe
£3.50 apples and milk (from food budget)
Another fieldwork day tomorrow -I'll take lunch but sometimes it's best to make myself scarce at lunchtime at this place, so may well end up in the cafe round the corner...0 -
Told you I expected tea and cake in there somewhere :j2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Evening all, been absent for a few days!
DDFW will investigate your message in a bit
Missing days...
Thurs 4th - fieldwork, er, let me remember...
£1.50 tea at station
£2 fruit and yogurt for lunch
Fri 5th
£1.50 tea at station
£1 yogurt for lunch (need to get back into buying multipacks clearly!)
(pretty sure there was something else too...)
Sat 6th
50p (do you know, I *know* I spent 50p in a charity shop earlier, and have absolutely NO idea what I bought!:rotfl: )
Remember being cross at myself for breaking my NSD though :rotfl:
So. Tomorrow is my first car boot saleI have
* bag of clothes (that I originally put out in a charity bag, but they never came to collect it). Plus coathangers to hang up. Includes a ball gown!
* bag of books
* giant basket of old Country Smallholder magazines :rotfl: Paid 50p each for these at antique shop on holiday and had a great time reading thembut don't feel the need to keep them...
* basket of fabric offcuts
* basket of wool, and another of rug making wool (goodness knows where that even came from)
* another bag of bits and pieces that Mr Cheery collected up
Quite a giant pile, and if I get rid of half of it I'll be pleased :rotfl: Not got any expectations other than of having a novel experience and spending some time with nice neighbour
Anyone got any tips?! Neighbour recommended not pricing anything, but I'm rubbish at haggling and HATE it when things aren't priced so I'm not sure! But we're sharing a table, so it'll be a bit mad if my stuff is priced and hers isn't :rotfl:0 -
De-lurked to say So pleased you enjoyed your stay in CS, I live in rather pretty town with a castle just a few miles south along the A49:D Often have a mooch around the charity shops in CS as we like to take dog a walk up Cardingmill Valley from time to time. Off to lurk again:D:DThe best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)0

Cheery - hope your boot-sale is going well and you've already raised enough for tea & cake for the foreseeable future
I just wanted to come on and say 'Thank You' to you for your good advice about pressing ahead with sending a condolence card to the family of my mentor, who I found out passed away last year. On receipt of my card, they got in contact with me and were pleased to have heard from me - despite the gap in time. So you were right, it was worth doingThanks Cheery

Aw, glad the family appreciated you getting in touch Greying
I know I would have done if it were me, no matter how long had passed, and even if it did bring back a few sad memories
Thanks for popping in
And maddiemay! Don't be lurking lass! Tis a beautiful part of the world, and we did indeed walk up Carding Mill Valley (didn't find it til the last day, which is ridiculous considering how close it is to where we were!) Also didn't make it to the town of which you speak - clearly we'll have to return
Not left yet - this is a slightly more civilised boot sale that starts at 9 (although from my novice point of view I think we might be cutting it a bit fine now!!) Car's loaded, just apparently waiting for someone else to arrive...
Have collected up all the change I've got but only have 8 £1 coins which I'm sure won't be enough  Have taken some of my £2 coin stash for ABSOLUTE EMERGENCIES but thinking about it I will be VERY resentful of anyone who takes one, so I might well just leave them at home:rotfl:

Hope it goes well, Cheery! Glad its civilised2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Well!! :rotfl:
Dressed for a hot sunny day but ended up shade of very tall building so had to wear coats taken from our stall to keep warm :rotfl:
Last time friend made £125 - this time £18.50 :rotfl: I came a close second with £17 :rotfl: but we paid £2.50 each to get in and i spent £7 at the tea and cake stall so not exactly going to plan my retirement just yet :rotfl: :rotfl:
Can't say i'd bother with another one - Mr Cheery seems keen and has plenty of sales advice now but he didn't make an appearance all day... :rotfl: :rotfl:
tired now0 -
Evening all :hello:
I worked at home today, after a little run through the woods to my favourite bench in the sunshine this morning :j Popped out at lunchtime to meet a friend, and we took flasks of tea to the park instead of going to the cafe :money: which also saved me eating cake :money:
Slimming world this evening - lost half a lb :rotfl: although having got down to my target a couple of months ago then bounced back up againI've still got another 4.5lbs to lose before I can stop paying again
:rotfl:
Just £4 on cereal bars to declare today as the actual slimming world fee has its own envelope and therefore doesn't count
VERY pleased that I took a bag of clothes and another of books straight to the charity shop today :j :j Still got a couple of bags of *stuff* in the kitchen but I wanted to sort through before taking it (although goodness knows why - i was clearly prepared to sell it at the car boot!)
Work tomorrow, and I'm actually going to the office for the first time in weeks! :j Possibly even a NSD.... fingers crossed!!
Ooh, and I harvested my first (and only) handful of raspberries from the garden today :j :j :j0
