It was indeed a good weekend :) I wore my pedometer and walked around 3.5 miles every day, even though I didn't leave the site!! Just wandering back and forth between workshop, dining room, cafe, workshop, car, cafe... :rotfl:

Spent £6 today going to cafe to get some work done, and then another £4 on breakfast items and fruit pastilles for long run tomorrow.

Weird evening, but I've just taken a peek at the bank account (through half closed eyes...) According to my spreadsheet we should be about £100 overdrawn  but there's actually £50 in there... Hmm...

Is there a difference between "available balance" and "actual balance"? Maybe something hasn't come out yet?

Thats what I was wondering, starnac ... Cheery, that pedometer result is interesting! 3.5 miles, when you're not even trying, is pretty impressive :)

It's surprising actually how far you walk without trying. When I was in uni I worked in a nightclub. I wore a pedometer in work and just walking back and forth behind the bar I used to walk between 2-3miles a night! It was really interesting

Isn't it amazing just how easy it is to reach that magic 10000 steps? I was blown away that it did not take too much extra effort!:)

I too started wearing a pedometer earlier this year. My lunchtime 1/2 hour walk is a suprising 1.5 miles and, I do another 2.5ish miles just commuting to/from work and walking around in the office (in theory I have a desk job!). The only conscious change I made was to use the stairs instead of the [STRIKE]elevator[/STRIKE] oops I mean lift!;) That amounts to 3 flights up & down twice a day.

Have been toying with the idea of working towards 20000 steps a day, but wondering how much discipline/effort that would take?

For me, 10,000 works out around 4.5 miles, so 20,000 would be 9 miles a day - not completely out of the question but requiring rather an effort and a fair bit more time!

(speaking as someone who literally just came back from a 9 mile run which took over 2 hours... :o :rotfl: )

Erm ... I have a pedometer from Tesco Magazine in my desktop drawer. To clip it on or not to clip it on, that is the question ....
