    That's really good :j:j:j

    I hate having to do things "because it's on my list" so I make a daily list occasionally that has much too much on, so I have a choice of what to do when, and I can still say truthfully that it was on my list :D

    Flexibility. Love it :D

    Cheery I think you are amazing to save so much money every month!

    Also I think I get the same thing with not eating enough when I do a lot of exercise. I walk everywhere each day other than taking the bus home with my children after school, because it's too far for them to walk. I also cycle at the weekends to work and back which means each day I spend around 3 hours plus actually walking or cycling. In this cold weather as well, I end up packing my normal lunch and snacks but by the kids tea time I'm starving so end up having some bread and butter then to tide me over. But I feel it must be needed.

    I chuckled when I saw hoovering on your list Cheery - reckon you should add into your next time slot as standard "Disentangle whatever the hoover has eaten this time from the interior of the hoover!" :rotfl:

    Definitely a sound plan to make sure that your mortgage is covered and there's still some slack in the budget - that way if rates go up when your first fixed deal ends, you can be assured that you can still cover it, and if they don't, you'll have a bit stashed away as an overpayment, ready! :T

    Evening chums :hello:

    KC, I love the idea of consciously putting plenty of things on the list so you can pick and choose :rotfl: :j :j Love it :D I just usually have the list equivalent of eyes bigger than my stomach :D :rotfl:

    Thanks Bob :D I don't manage it every month :o :rotfl: and I can only manage it because we have no mortgage! I'm kind of annoyed with myself that we *could* have managed it every month last year but just didn't... but I guess that's why a lot of us are here :o Yet again, I am grateful for having found this place and got out of debt and on a cheery savings path :j

    :rotfl: at adding 'retrieve what the hoover's eaten' to the list :rotfl: I do have to do it *every* time :o One day I will have clear floors! Upright Dysons really aren't made for hoovering round boxes and things :rotfl:

    And yep, the plan is to get into a savings groove and stash plenty for overpaying :j And, of course, it's possible that we might move out of town so there'll be travel costs to add back into the budget again :eek: and the council tax may be higher, and the energy bills, and who knows what :eek: Anyway, tis always wise to avoid spending right to the limit of your income if you're in the fortunate position of being able to avoid such a thing! :j

    Just popping in here to encourage me into a bit of action :D and to report today's Uber Frugal January success - Mr Cheery suggested a takeaway :eek: :eek: :eek: and I was SO tempted to give in :eek: but thought NO! Not right now! I still have some energy, we have a meal plan and a load of food, and so the pair of us reluctantly cobbled together a very delicious risotto :j :j Gosh it was a close one though :eek:

    Promised we can have a takeaway the first friday after Uber Frugal Jan is over :eek:

    Anyway, tonight's DIY task is to undercoat the rest of the skirting in the kitchen. And I'd best crack on as there's a giant load of stuff in the way and it'll be a right pest. But if I undercoat tonight I can gloss tomorrow and finish on Sunday... and yes, it does need that many coats as it's currently painted BLACK :eek: :rotfl:

    Right...

    Undercoating done :j :j Need a plan for tomorrow as Mr Cheery is visiting family and I'm likely to drift the whole day away if I don't watch out :eek:

    So (in order so I don't have to make any decisions...) :D

    * have breakfast (let's start realistically ;):D )
    * washing on
    * bread machine on
    * pack a picnic :D (hot choc, yogurt and porridge, satsumas)

    ******************************************************************
    * cycle to parkrun
    * parkrun with pal
    * nice cuppa in the cafe (I know, I know! But I will just have tea, I promise!)
    * cycle home the long way (ie 8 miles instead of 1.5 :eek: )

    *************************************************************************
    * put on giant vat of soup for work lunches next week
    * lunch
    * pizza dough in bread machine

    *************************************************************************************
    * finish plasterboarding hole in spare room (different hole this time...)
    * plaster fiddly bit round new hole, and rest of windowframe
    * gloss kitchen skirting
    * paint kitchen ceiling

    *****************************************************************************
    * make pizza for tea
    * make some kind of snack for work lunches
    * blog post
    * ynab

    So, what exactly was I saying about overambitious plans?! :rotfl: :rotfl
  • We do love a good list cheery :)

    Enjoy that tea after the run and maybe have a cake eh?

    Soup on here but I have jet lag and what else would I do but next weeks lunches and pancakes (sour milk) as I'm up.

    Have a great one. x

    Must do a 'palace improvement' list here we need some stuff doing.
    Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there. :beer:
    Total debt as of 28/4/19 £7867.38:eek:
    minus 112.06 = £7755.32:money:

    Palace improvement :j Given up on our list (kind of) and just doing things that are in front of us :o :rotfl:

    currently defrosting after parkrun, cup of tea OUTSIDE and bike ride. Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Wish I'd put the damn bread machine on instead of the washing this morning when I only had time to do one - what was I thinking?! It would have been ready by now! :eek: Instead all I've got is a pile of wet washing to hang up! :eek: :rotfl:

    Right, best at least put bread machine and soup on now else I'm never going to get either of them done :o :rotfl:

    Back in a bit to cross stuff off :D

    *slight* change of plan due to WEEVILS discovered socialising in the dried soup mix stuff :eek: I'm not particularly squeemish about such things but I did wonder just how many of them I cooked in my vat of soup last week :eek: :eek:

    Anyway, sadly I've dispatched that jar full to the bin :( But it was at least 5 years old and there wasn't *that* much left :o

    A sage reminder to USE STUFF UP!

    Fortunately weevils do not seem to have spread to anything else - which is good and surprising as very little is airtight in that cupboard :eek: :o

    Anyway, got a few things to cross off :D

    * [STRIKE]have breakfast (let's start realistically ;) [/STRIKE]:D )
    * [STRIKE]washing on[/STRIKE]

    cut slightly short at 5.5 miles as it was FREEZING and I feared I may lose my fingers! :eek: :o
    *************************************************************************
    * [STRIKE]put on giant vat of soup for work lunches next week[/STRIKE]had to use yellow split peas instead of weevil-infested soup mix but they needed using up too
    * [STRIKE]lunch[/STRIKE]just scoffing soup now :D will leave it to cook a bit longer as the split peas are still a bit on the undercooked side
    * [STRIKE][STRIKE]pizza dough in bread machine[/STRIKE][/STRIKE]
    should be done in 5 mins, then I'll swap it for a normal loaf

    I actually don't think that's a bad job :j :j Can't do the plastering as some bits of the adhesive are still wet, so I'll finish off all the plastering tomorrow. Just about to do YNAB and will see if I get chance to squeeze in a blog post before Mr Cheery gets back :j Although he's due back any minute so perhaps not :rotfl:

    Hoping for an equally productive day tomorrow :eek: Will write a list later :D

    What is a weevil when it's at home? Or in your cupboard in any case. It's not the ones that wobble but don't fall down is it?
