Well done dearheart that's a lot for a saturday.
I've started using the timer on my machine (crazy I know) so its ready to take out when I'm 'ready' to hang it up something from flylady I think.
Oddly enough its stopped me washing things 10 times cos I forget.
Bread before soggy stuff always. And, man your pizza sounded awesomeTotal debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there. :beer:
Total debt as of 28/4/19 £7867.38:eek:
minus 112.06 = £7755.32:money:
:money:Sleeves up folks.:money:0 -
Bob, weevils are teensy beetles that live in dried stuff. Don't do any harm but can get everywhere :eek: no idea how these ones got here - usually eggs hatching in bought flour or something (sounds awful but there are apparently a few in everything!) But these were in a jar of dried beans that had been in cupboard for years :eek: can't see in anything else but going to have a good sort out today just in case :eek:
Sensible pippisadly my washing machine is too ancient to have a timer :rotfl: it has one setting (plus several that require you to 'turn the washer on a click' like we used to have to do as kids) - normal setting takes nearly 2 hours!! :eek:
But it still works so we're sticking with it :rotfl:0 -
Right, I've been up three hours and all I've done is eat two lots of breakfast and write a blog post :eek:
:eek: Time for a list I think!

* clean out kitchen cupboard and check everything for weevils :eek:
* pack a couple of boxes of kitchen stuff
* paint kitchen ceiling
* hoover upstairs
* shower
* make pasta bake for tea
* cycle to meeting

Voluntold! Wonderful!
Cheery, good luck with your list - are you packing kitchen stuff away because of the decorating, or the future move?Save2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
voluntold :rotfl: :rotfl:
Packing for both reasons KC!Had to do an enormous amount of packing so we could reach to decorate things
:rotfl: but we only packed stuff we knew we wouldn't use - I know, I know - why are we moving it if we're not using it - but I miss my books and extra clothes and *Stuff* and will be VERY glad to see it again
Definitely not minimalists here :rotfl:
We weren't dead systematic, but just started with things that were in the way and moved outwards :rotfl: Last week I took stuff off the kitchen shelves to paint the wall (they'd been ignored as they weren't in the way of anything) but quite a bit of it is either decorative or unused storage jars etc - don't want to chuck but there's no point putting them back at this point so might as well just pack while they're on the floor.
And if everything is coming off the shelves to check for Soup Weevils (love that phrase :rotfl: ) might as well pack unused jars etc that are cluttering up the cupboards too
And it'll make me feel like I've achieved something :rotfl:
Plastering doneOne bit will need an extra coat but that can be done after lunch
Quite peckish now...
Need to clean out the plastering bucket first though else it'll be set solid :eek:0 -

Awww Cheery - we are kindered spirits! - I'm not either.
Nothing stresses me out more than being told I'd be happier with less stuff! Not that I have lots of stuff but I like my hard earned things & have zero desire to get rid of any of it!
(Books about simplifying and decluttering give me headaches & heart palpitations!)
I have a mother who delights in telling me weekly about all the 'stuff' she has gotten rid off & an OH who has no attachment to anything material...
...sometimes I wonder if I'm from another planet! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! Must be same planet as me RT :rotfl: I reckon Mr Cheery must be the king though :eek: He's far worse/better at keeping stuff than me
Having a slightly vexing day, mostly self inflicted. Didn't get much done this morning, spent ages with the fiddly plastering then sat down and forgot I hadn't cleaned out the bucket - resulting in an extremely tedious and time consuming cleaning-nearly-dry-plaster-out-of-bucket fiasco :mad:
Had to wait for Mr Cheery to vacate the kitchen, which has happened an hour later than we planned - and in the meantime had a fight with the printer which is saying there is no paper when clearly there IS. Seems I'm not the only one who's had this problem so I suppose at some point I'll have to do some tedious fiddling with that too.
Finally got kitchen (and house) to myself though so need to start the (also tedious) business of cleaning out these blithering cupboards - when what I really wanted to do was paint the ceiling. But if I do that we might be overrun by weevils! :eek: :rotfl: :rotfl:
Haven't even really got enough milk for a cuppa :eek: And that *is* my fault because I could have gone out this morning while Mr Cheery was in the kitchen! Aarrgghh!
Anyway. Deep breath. Going to have some hot squash instead :rotfl: and then put some cheery music on, set the timer, and get everything out of ONE shelf in ONE cupboard...
Got to leave at 5.30 to cycle across town so clock's ticking!0 -
Well, what a tiresome day! One thing after another has been a pain in the !!!!.
However, I am now tucked up with a hot water bottle and all is ok. So, some achievements :j
* cycled across town and back - I can feel i'm getting fitter :j
* bagged up soup for freezer - lunches for the week sorted :j
* plastered really fiddly bit round tiny internal windows
* cleaned and cleared shelf where I found Soup Weevils - fortunately there didn't seem to be any more :j
* packed a box of jars etc that we won"t use til after move
* transferred some dried stuff (lentils ec) out of bags into airtight containers, just in case :rotfl:
That's it I thinkdoesn't feel like the world's most productive day but hey ho. Back to work tomorrow...
