    Also I tend to wander off and leave them til they turn to mush which is fine in soup or curry, but these are nice and intact so good for stir fry things :D

    Realised it's nearly the middle of September - I'm sure last time I looked it was August?! :eek:
  • I use my pressure cooker and cook a bag of pulses all in one go then freeze them in portion sizes.

    Jan - £176.66 :j
  • I use my crock pot and also freeze portions like dawnybabes. But I load up on cans od different ones when they go on sale. So I do a little of both ways.
    Overprepare, then go with the flow.

    Well you are both extremely organised :D I used to do that at one point, but sadly I don't have a pressure cooker any more (what on earth happened to it?! I had one when I was a student!) and the slow cooker has been in a box in the cellar for months :o :rotfl:

    Nothing much to report here - had to buy lunch out for the last two days due to disorganisation :eek: but back on track now. Also got a purse full of receipts that need sorting out later tonight so I'll be back then. Payday on Monday so will be able to do a bit of shuffling :D

    Off to do some organising. I am SO organised at work, and not remotely organised at home :o I miss birthdays and forget all manner of things which I would NEVER do at work :o So time for a bit of a rethink!

    Oh, and a minor celebration as car has been for MOT with a total cost (including cost of MOT) of £90 :j :j :j :j Something rubbery had snapped in half, and they replaced the windscreen wipers and the glass screens on the headlights (which had smashed, but the lights were still working), but that was it I think! :j

    (if only they were all like that! :eek: )

    Evening chums :hello:

    Hope you're all good :) been busy this week, work is ramping up towards the busiest period of the year pretty much, and I've not been in my job for a year yet so I've not really experienced this bit... fun and exciting but also a bit busier than I've been used to these past few months :o :rotfl

    Also had a 2 day induction for my new course. I think I'm going to LOVE it :j good job, as it's compulsory :rotfl: but it's also expensive, work are funding it and I'm doing it in work time, so rather lucky really that it's so interesting and worthwhile :j

    What else? Oh! Today was pay day, and it turna out also a pay RISE :j :j not that I've done anything to deserve one :rotfl: this is just the annual increment - I just wasn't sure what month it arrived, and assumed I'd probably get it after I'd actually been there a year but clearly not :D Roughly £1100 a year, of which I get £50 ish a month :j

    Aw, and I don't know whether I told you but a neighbour knocked on the door the other day saying there was a note on my car windscreen... trned out from a bloke who said he'd clipped my wing mirror and the plastic backing had fallen off - he apologised and left his number...

    Needless to say I never intended to fix it with anything other than gaffa tape, and texted to tell him not to worry about it (but thanks for leaving note :D ) He's replied again to say "are you sure?" I'm tempted toask if he actually saw the car - there are all kinds of other bits missing too :rotfl: )

    Anyway, after I texted I noticed the garage must have stuck it back on at the MOT anyway as Mr Cheery had left it on the front seat :rotfl: :rotfl:

    Nice to know there are cheery people in the world :j

    Morning :hello:

    NO outside plans for today - the only 'free' day of the week :j

    So inevitably I'm going to fill it with *stuff* :rotfl: A small list :j

    * stew apples
    * make gooseberry jam
    * YNAB and banks
    * get futons out of car and into attic
    * blog post
    * finish painting bedroom walls
    * finish scraping bathroom windowsill
    * primer on bathroom windowsill
    * primer on rest of bathroom cladding
    * fill holes in bedroom cladding (then paint primer on if time)
    * final gloss coat on attic stairs
    * have a nice bath :D

    That's it I think - should keep me out of mischief for a few hours... :rotfl:
  • It should indeed, I hope you've had a lovely week. Must go and check my gooseberries, I'm ignoring the apples which are rosy-redding up like crazy just now.

    and in your honour I've dug our the slow cooker and are cooking up some bargainous peas for lunches this week.

    :) have a great day. Its beautiful here.
    Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there. :beer:

    :hello: hi pippi :) nice to see you :)

    Sun's come out here too :) I've been painting the bedroom wall, trying to ignore that what it really needs is to be replastered... :eek: but I'm NOT going down that road now :eek:

    Stewed apples eaten with pancakes :j Most cheerful :D

    Ooh, all this slow cooker talk is making me want to dig mine out of the cellar, but I fear if we start UNPACKING at this stage it's a slippery slope and we'll end up NEVER moving house :eek: :rotfl:
