Thanks KC :kisses3: no chance of plastering tonight I don't think :rotfl: I reckon I actually did get 8 hours last night, just starting at 10 and finishing at half 9 this morning with a big chunk of awake in the middle :rotfl: actually feel pretty lively :j
Not done much mind :rotfl: YNAB of course, and a blog post. And we pottered round the charity shops which was nice, and I've dismantled my old wooden compost bin - a shame as I did like it very much but it was rotten and leaning sideways and I'm trying to make the garden look more presentable... Fortunately when we visited Pippi she was chucking one so I rescued thathad a happy half hour swapping them over and new one now in place, and I have 4 buckets of home made conpost to spread round the garden :j
It's quite *big* though, and right next to the pavement (and the garden is about a metre high so it's kind of eye level). Going to hop out and get some screening to go round it - won't take much and will make it much tidier.
Also - FIRST! Need to collect race numbers from running shop, then screening and woodchip. Siter setting off in a minute so I'll have a couple of hours to do that and tidy up. Will shove some dough in the bread machine when I get back (for pizza) and I already told her we hve to sit in the kitchen so I can supervise the jam :rotfl:
Right, race numbers! No time for the tip now but that's ok - it'll give the millions of beasties chance to rehome themselvs away from the old compost bin, rather than them all getting into he car  :rotfl:0 -
Good luck with the race tomorrow! Just to let you know that I did my first parkrun today - finally! It was fabLBM 1st Feb 2015 £18182 to go
my diary: time to step up to the plate. SPC#0790 -
Oooh, Stepup! :j :j Yay
Glad you enjoyed it :j I LOVE parkrun
Not actually been to one since I got my 50 t shirt mind you :rotfl: Although I have worn it for other things, and I will wear it tomorrow
Although at this rate I'm going to have to wear some kind of raincoat and a sou'wester   SO soggy! Hope it's getting it all out of its system before tomorrow  We'll likely be out for over 4 hours (not including getting down there which might be another 30 mins each way if we walk) so we'll be VERY wet if this carries on!
Have got race numbers :j and have also got 4 giant bags of wood chip for the garden :j although they're still in the car cos they were an absolute pest to lift, and also it's nigh on impossible to park anywhere near the house if you get home after 5 these days  I'm on the next street, so it'll have to stay in there til tomorrow!
Right - pizza dough - not managed to get it in the breadmaker yet...0 -
:hello:
Evening folks
Long day here! Much fun though15 miles is a LONG way  especially when you haven't trained properly...
:rotfl: Still, I survived
we didn't come last
and we had excellent fun along the way - including collecting a poor woman who was crying after dragging herself up an enormous hill to meet her family, who were saying 'do you want to give up??' as she sobbed... We stopped and said she was more than welcome to stay with us if she wanted to carry on, we were going pretty slowly
and we weren't in any rush so were happy to go at her pace. There was only 4 miles left, and all three of us have been at that place in a race, especially when we were by ourselves...
So she came with us, and started smiling, and finished ahead of me:rotfl: She was ever so grateful and pleased with herself - never run that far before
So now I'm tired, and feeling the effects of not having trained properly...:rotfl: Had a nice soak in the bath (no, I did NOT sit in a cold one first  never been able to make myself do that, however much people tell me it will help! )
In a bit we're going to wander to the shop to get a nice drinkA little bit of a leisurely stroll will help, however reluctant I am (And it's MUCH more pleasant than a cold bath!) :rotfl:
In the meantime, YNAB all sorted and up to date :j Had an email from work the other day saying an expenses claim will be paid soon (I'd thought I was up to date but must have missed one) so that'll be £26 coming my way, probably at the end of the week, and when I get to the office on Wednesday I'll put in my claim from my trip, roughly £170 I think (need to check whether I claim bank charges, and whether when switching currency I claim what was actually taken out of bank, or whatever it is on the day I claim).
They always pay within 2-3 weeks, and the £26 will stay in the expenses category to cover my next little trip that I make each month or so, and the £170 is earmarked for the house moving fund :j0 -
Evening :hello:
Not managed to put expenses claim in yet - had a couple of days out of the office and today was just one thing after another! Will do it on Friday.
Spent most of the week hobbling  Foot was fine on Sunday, slightly sore on Monday, and has just got worse as the days have passed  Will try and get into the docs in the next couple of days, make sure I haven't done anything untoward.
Oh, and I was absolutely COVERED in insect bites from being in the woods for hours. Arms and legs look like I have some kind of medieval plague  :rotfl: :rotfl: Eased off now fortunately but it was most irritating for a while!
Off tomorrow, so need some kind of a list so the day doesn't just float by... Will make a proper one tomorrow but for now...
- YNAB
- new headlight bulb for car
- do some washing
- plaster bathroom wall (or wall on attic stairs, bathroom might be a bit epic for just one day)
- tidy the !!!! up!
That'll probably do for now :P0 -
Well that's just cr^p about your foot! Very sorry to hear it's giving you trouble. And bug bites! Yikes!!
So back to cheery plastering. The saga continues after a brief intermission.:TOverprepare, then go with the flow.
[Regina Brett]0 -
That list will definitely do for now! And as Mila says, ouch to the bites and double ouch to the foot, since its got worse
OTOH - £26 extra expenses, yay2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Yay indeed KC
They may well have arrived by now - will check in a minute
Well, that was an extremely productive day! :j :j Feel MUCH better for a good clean (of both me and the house) - house especially had reached grim proportions of grottiness  Cleaned the fridge, mirrors, bins, under the cooker (although not actually *in* the cooker:rotfl: ), under the chairs in the kitchen where things get lots for months, cleared SO many cobwebs  Poor hoover didn't know what hit it
So house now looks like a house againAnd I've done some washing - although, darn it, just remembered it's still in the washing machine! Pah!
Not done bedroom or attic (temporary bedroom) yet - stopped to get on with some painting :j :j Have now painted the first coat on the bit by the bed - my aim is to be back in it in the next week or so :j Once we put the mattress up there we won't be able to balance the ladders on it (obviously!) so need to paint the ceiling etc first. So first coat done :j Should only need one more 'mist coat' (paint/water to soak into the plaster), then hopefully just one of white. We'll see.
Right - also just realised that one thing I said I'd do was sort YNAB, which I have yet to do! And it's the last day of the month too so I can update totals and things :j
Back in a tic0 -
Ok... YNAB done :money: Bit of a faff as various work things still in there and I seem to have spent on lots of small bits over the last few days and purse was entirely stuffed with receipts!
:rotfl:
Still, done nowAnd July's budget fiddled with so it makes sense :j
Expenses arrived :j although it was only £23.60 (I think I must have got a lift rather than a bus for one leg of the journey :rotfl: ) That's sat waiting for my next trip now. Must do big expenses claim tomorrow - quite tiresome in one way as there's lots of entering things into various boxes on the computer, but fun in other ways as you also have to scan in the receipts, so there's quite bit of playing with pritt stick:j
Tired now - just got to make sure I've got one more thing in bag for work tomorrow, hang the washing up, then I'm going to curl up in a ball :j0 -
