I can't complain really - I've spent a lot of my working life chasing people in a similar fashion... :rotfl:0

:hello: Sorry folks, vanished for a couple of days. Been thinking and overthinking how I use social media :eek: Couple of things have happened in the past few weeks that, while not remotely serious, have made me think seriously about what I share and who with. So many people in the background on Facebook that I've not seen since school and don't really have much interest in seeing, or people that I know but don't like much
yet here I am showing them pictures of my house and decorating and running - again, nothing 'important' but it's made me have a good think. Deactivated facebook for a few days and now have had a good rootle through privacy settings and friends list and have lost a few - I'm afraid for now I'm keeping Facebook to people I know in person so if that's not you and I've booted you off, I'm sorry, it wasn't anything personal
Funny old business isn't it? I'm relatively open in what I share on here, but there's obviously a lot of things I don't share. Facebook I share different things, twitter different again (reserved for work only), other forums I share other things... and I'm happy with that. But sometimes they cross over, people have used my other forum name on facebook lately which I'm not comfortable with, and I've been tagged with both real name and another online name in the same post, which links them in a way I'm also not comfortable with. Just trying to untangle things again.
Anyway, enough rambling, just wanted to hop in and say that, and now I really must go to work! Nothing else to report anyway really :hello:0 -
Ooh Cheery that doesn't sound good. I try to keep things separate. I share a lot on FB, probably too much, but then I am more private in Twitter. My kids are not named or shown. I like the privacy that I get here too. I'm much more open knowing that I have that.
Sorry to hear that other people haven't respected your privacy very well. I think you have made a good decisionGoals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000 -
Thanks starnac. I think it's more a case of people not realising how separate I try to keep things, and in fairness I've never actually pulled anyone up on it or asked them to stop
Think I'm just feeling a bit fragile right now for other (boring) reasons so feeling a bit 'watched', and that makes me want to retreat a little...
Ah well, I have tea now so the world seems a bit brighter, even if it is still raining :rotfl:0 -
Urgh, what a gloomy day, in many senses of the world
Tried to allay my sense of helplessness by doing something practical - which at the minute means.... plastering :j Don't think I said, but I bought myself a nice shiny red plaster mixer at the weekendBit like a kind of egg whisk thing, but giant, and fits in the end of a drill
Needless to say, any time I would have saved on the mixing was spent looking for the drill, as predicted...
:rotfl:
Still, it did a good job eventually :j Two coats on the 2nd bit of awkward wall on the landing, and I'll finish smoothing in a minute :j Had to do this wall in 2 goes (several weeks apart) as there are 2 doors to go round and I'm just not quick enoughThink I've done a reasonable job of blending the two bits, we'll find out!
Still plenty of plastering to do mind you, but we're definitely getting there :j mr cheery has done some good cladding on the giant scruffy bedroom wall :j so it's actually starting to look like a room in there now - far more than it ever did before :rotfl: :rotfl:
This is probably the last bit I'll have chance to do before I go away so I'm glad I got round to it
Right, best go and do some smoothing before it sets solid. Oh, and also need to get the last bits out of my eye :eek: have rinsed and rinsed and poked with a flannel and can't decide if there's some left or if I've just scratched it with all my poking
One day I'll learn... probably not any time soon though...:rotfl:

Evening :hello:
So... not long til I go away :eek: all work and travel related stuff is done, but clothes are mostly still in the washer and I have no idea if my rucksack fits within luggage allowance, what clothes I should take, and I suspect my handbag type bag is broken... :eek: House is a tip, garden full of weeds :eek:
Feeling the need to create some sense of order... :rotfl: So, a list... in no particular order (and not colourdey cos I'm on the phone and it's too hard)
* ring mum
*hang washing up (involves putting previous washing away...)
* put away clothes out of bathroom
* clear piles of stuff from old trips from kitchen
* recycling and compost out
* washing up
* check weather and decide on clothes
* find bag that suits hand luggage allowance
* fix handbag (or if impossible, will hsve to trawl charity shops for a new one tomorrow)
* pack all work and travel stuff, plus shoes etc that I won't need tomorrow
That might be enough actually - probably take me the whole evening just to find an appropriate bg and hang the washing up :rotfl:
Right, ready, steady, GO!0 -
Ok, have rung mum (she wasn't there), put washing away, hung new stuff up, cleared clothes from bathroom, checked weather (surprise surprise, it's going ti p*ss down all week...), and changed the sheets, which I don't think I put on list but did anyway :j
Just going to stop for a quick cuppa then on with the rest...0 -
