Sadly on this occasion I didn't stop during the run to go shopping
I do have a small reputation among my online running friends for doing that - I did once stop in a newsagents to buy some jelly babies about 3 miles into a half marathon :rotfl: :rotfl:
Stayed the same at slimming world last night, really must pull finger out and stop eating biscuits:rotfl:
Trying to rival my sister's training while I'm off - Ran 5 miles yesterday and just been swimming :j Did 600m, rang her on the way out all proud of myself - only to find she was also on the way out of her leisure centre having done 750! :rotfl: Pesky woman:rotfl: Bike ride tomorrow.
Bit tired now thoughFriend coming round for a cuppa in a bit, so I'm going to sneak off to bed for half an hour with a book before she gets here
:rotfl:

Ha - so much for that - I was fast asleep for an hour and a half!
:rotfl: :rotfl:
First quote back for replacing the three large misted windows - £225 :j Got another bloke coming to quote tomorrow (the ones FA recommended) so I'll make a decision after that. If they're the same I'll go with the one who can do it this week!
Friend been here for a couple of hours so not really done anything useful0 -
Hmm, had two quotes for sorting the downstairs double glazing:
(1) £225
(2) £1865
Hmm, let me think about that for a minute..... :rotfl: :rotfl:
second bloke came when we weren't here today, and I'd forgotten to put stickers on the windows as he asked - but since I'd already told him it was *all* the big panes in the downstairs windows, but not the smaller panes, he shouldn't have been too confused... Clearly just doesn't want to do it!
Ah well, will ring the first bloke in the morning :j
Nice 13 mile bike ride today and lunch with a friendGot free parking as the machine was broke and the cafe shut :money:

Sounds like the 2nd quote was for replacement of windows completely not just the sealed unit. Why do they never listen!"Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0
-
Yes i did wonder that Pooky but I did clearly say JUST the sealed units, NOT the frames - so if he can't listen to that I'm not chasing him! Liked the other guy anyway
Off to the docs this morning to sort various repeat prescriptions. Might drop medical exemption into chemist while I'm there - they almost didn't give me my tablets the other day cos I didn't have the card with me. Never used to need it but apparently I'm not on the computer any more so they thought it had run out but I've found the card now and it doesn't need renewing til 2019! Don't know what's going on.
Then we're off on an adventure to have a wander round some places where some of the houses we"ve seen are :j Not looking round actual houses today, just potential areas, give us a feel for them. Should be a cheery day out and a fair bit of walking if nowt else! :j0 -
Ermahgerd - That's a ridiculous quote.
Our local (Cloudy2Clear) one did our front door window, the frosted window in the proch, Angel Baby's tilt & turn window and our big front room window for about £800.
Clearly he doesn't want the work and as you say it's a no brainer.
Happy weekend. xxjust in case you need to know:

DS#1 - my twenty-five-year old son
DS#2 - my twenty -one son0 -
!That *was* cloudy2clear fannyadams! :rotfl: :rotfl: Our three windows are *very* big (one is 2.5 metres wide) but I think he's misunderstood what I was asking as I wasn't in when he came to measure... Oh well, just spoke to local bloke anyway and he can hopefully do next week :j0
-
It hadn't really occurred to me to just get the sealed units renewed ... that could be a really good option, thanks Cheery.
Hope you're having a good day - its a real advantage to look at areas as well as houses.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
I didnt think of it either til fannyadams suggested it but it's the perfect solution for us :j Quite excited at being able to properly see out again
:rotfl:
Having an 'at home' day today :j Sun is shining, I've been for a run round the fields, friend has popped round with the ladders (although we could *not* figure out how to get them balanced on the stairs  )
Out in the garden first though :j Advantage of such a small garden is that it won't take long to sort out :j Although this is my first time out there after winter really so there's a fair bit needs doing, not least taming the beastly willow hedge. I'll miss this little garden but will NOT miss that hedge! :rotfl:0 -
Willow is beastly. Hope you sorted the ladder issue out that could be youchy if wrong!Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.
Total debt as of 28/4/19 £7867.38:eek:
minus 112.06 = £7755.32:money:
:money:Sleeves up folks.:money:0
