Cheery's buttling diary: tea in one hand, plant pot in the other, running shoes on

ooh, interesting, thanks KC! :j Hadn't really thought about trying to differentiate the week from the weekend if you work at home all the time, but that's probably exactly what I'd do too in that situation. Otherwise all the days kind of might feel like they're rolling into one I suppose. Interesting about trading off walking/gardening too.
Really interesting to read what other people do, thank you! :j I'm guilty of trying to stuff too much into every weekend, and end up going back to work feeling like I haven't had a rest:rotfl:
Speaking of which, let's have a look at that pesky list and see if I actually did any of it...
- [STRIKE]morning routine[/STRIKE]
- [STRIKE]YNAB/banks[/STRIKE]
- write card for woman round the corner
-[STRIKE] recycling and compost out[/STRIKE]
- lop willow in garden
- [STRIKE]tidy garden[/STRIKE]
- [STRIKE]pop to garden centre - could do with a bit of brightening up and I want a houseplant for my desk at work [/STRIKE]
- [STRIKE]put washing away[/STRIKE]
- [STRIKE]hoover upstairs[/STRIKE]
- [STRIKE]hoover downstairs[/STRIKE]
- get workshop into decent state (mostly Mr Cheery's job)
-[STRIKE] take christmas cards down [/STRIKE]
- put Christmas tree in cellar
Not tooooooo bad! :j Did an hour in the garden but it went dark before I even got to the willow... but outside the kitchen window is now clear, and I've lopped all the sticks off the lavender and cleared the weeds from the pots :j And planted some flowers in the pots by the door :j
Had to accept that I won't get anything else done in the garden before estate agent comesbut hey ho. Got some wood chip and I'll put that down outside the kitchen which will make a HUGE difference to how it looks.
Have hoovered and dusted and cleaned like a woman possessed but I'm not even sure you can tell:eek: :rotfl: Hey ho. Mr Cheery is going to do stuff while I'm at work tomorrow, and then I'll see if there are any final bits to do after work.
Starting to think about storage for all these boxes  Starting to get to the point where we can't do much more without shifting a load of stuff OUT. Horrifyingly expensive though  Off to see if :money: has any tips...0 -
Looks like a good 'balanced' weekend to me Cheery. Mixture of chores and fun.
My weekend has been taken up with year end accounts Didn't even get dressed yesterday, just sat at desk on laptop all day.
However OH did do some de cluttering so all was not lost!!
XxxxHoping to stick to the challenge this year!!

Sounds like a nice weekend indeed! You have my sympathy on losing your Fridays though - I've always tended to use them for any admin stuff to do with the self-employment thing - not though there's much, to be honest, updating a spreadsheet and once a year the Tax Return but that hardly takes any time and I generally try to do it as soon as it's available to me - can't be doing with turning it all into a rush in January as the deadline looms! Also things like shopping and that sort of stuff, plus houseworky bits, although thanks to FlyLady-ish behaviour there's less of that to actually DO on a Friday now!
When I used to work Fridays I generally did shopping on my way home on a Friday night - I've always hated having to trawl around the supermarket on a Saturday if it can be avoided!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Eek Stressed Mum, year end accounts don't sound much fun, even if you do get to stay in your PJs all day!
Yep, I shall miss Fridays for the 'catch up on life admin' type of activity. Although actually, the week is already starting to feel like it has more *space* in it somehow. I'm home by 5.30 most days (if it's 5.45 Mr Cheery starts surreptitiously looking at the clock when I come in - he's on a mission to encourage me not to work too hard... Fat chance of that I say! But I do sometimes get engrossed in something late afternoon...)
Mr Cheery usually has tea waiting for me :j so we've eaten by about 6.30, and the evenings are just stretching ahead... :j :j
Not that I've done anything productive with them yet, mind you :rotfl: But it's easier to fit in a bit of pottering and I'm spending much more time just hanging out with Mr Cheery, so that's nice :j
Having an experimental working-at-home day today - need to check the computer/phone etc system all works. And, of course, the estate agent is coming round to do the valuation at 12  then got a phone appointment with the bank re new mortgage calculation, and the estate agent's financial advisor is coming at 4 (and yes, before you all start, I KNOW not to rely on them for independent advice - but they will at least give me a wider idea than the bank!)
So busy, busy :j
Flylady missions are easy this week :j Yesterday was all about throwing old shampoo etc bottles away but I did that last monthToday is tossing old linen and towels - all good there too! :j :j
We're as ready as we're going to get for estate agent. I'll run the hoover round the landing again once Mr Cheery is up and I need to empty the bin and recycling, but first - WORK!0 -

Cheery, thats interesting with the shorter travel time seeming to make up for not having Friday free - long may that continue!
Good luck with all the estate agent carp today2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
How did it go?! Hoping all good...
Not surprised the week feels more spacious, as it were, without all that ludicrous travelling, and I guess even th evenings you are out, you are home for a bit first so it all feels more relaxed? It's going to make such a change when the light evenings arrive too!
I keep threatening to empty and sort out the airing cupboard - maybe I ought to do that today if it's Flylady's mission of the day...? Might add it to the list for tomorrow just to be contrary mind you...🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

She didn't mention an airing cupboard - just towels and linens
Mine are generally strewn about the place rofl
Estate agent visit went well :j He was professional without being full of !!!!! :rotfl: And Mr Cheery liked his suit :rotfl: I suspect we'll go with them as they were a recommendation from the folks who moved from over the road recently, and they're quite pernickety when it comes to such matters :rotfl:
Got a list of stuff to do (and a list of stuff not worth bothering with) but now that's over and done with it feels almost we've given ourselves 'permission' to start
Bank is ringing in half an hour, and financial advisor straight after - going to go back and do some work for a few minutes:eek: :rotfl:
Will report back on money side of things in a bit...0 -
Ooh so exciting! :T:j:T:j:T
Suspect the Americans don't have airing cupboards do they - don't they have "linen closets" instead?!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

No idea - personally I don't have either :rotfl: :rotfl:
Exciting but quite exhausting:rotfl:
Just spoken to nice lady at the bank - I shall feel quite guilty if we don't end up going with them as she's been lovely:rotfl:
Based on my new salary and what we're expected to get for this place they're willing to lend us £174,914    What a ludicrous amount of money!!
In all the kerfuffle I didn't get monthly amounts for borrowing all of it - just checked for £130,000 - paying £800 a month  would make it 16 years. I think.
Anyway, lots to think about. Giant amounts of money seem unimaginable sometimes, don't they??I can't get my head around that type of money. I can't imagine we'll end up borrowing all that  Would rather go with a cheaper house and a smaller mortgage. But then at the minute I'd pay good money to keep my tiny walking-distance commute...
Tis all trade offs isn't it??
Next finance bod due in 10 mins. Worn out! :rotfl:0
