I wonder how long it will take for the electrol roll to be picked up by the credit reference agencies?

I was thinking when it shows up on Noddle, I might try applying for a Capital one card, as it's been at least 18 months since I was turned down by Aqua.

When our electrol roll details are updated with the credit ref's, will it state what date I moved to my current address, or will it just state Feb 2014?

I'm wondering whether to apply for a Cap1 card as soon as it appears on the credit file, or wait a bit first?

Write a complaint to Cabot, including a copy of the entry on your credit report.

State that you have no knowledge of the debt and insist they remove the entry from your credit report.

That's it really, no template necessary. If they ignore you or refuse, refer to FOS.

    What's the default date?

If it's your OHs, should not be on your report...
I have received this letter from Cabot.

I just called my council, and it seems I'm not on the electrol roll, but they could see I'd put the form in, and was informed I'd be on the roll when it is published on 17th Feb.

I had EXACTLY the same issue! Filled forms and sent them off in April 2013! I am due to go on 17th Feb 2014!!

    Regarding hubby's credit file.
On Noddle, he has no late payments, defaults, ccj's etc. There is only 1 mail order account which is up to date, and a Barclaycard from many years ago (we thought it was closed after we had an arrangement to pay), it's showing a balance of £15, but is being marked up to date every month. Not sure on this as we paid it all off  - we are currently trying to claim PPI on this card.

So, his credit file looks fine to me, apart from he is not on the electrol roll (should be this month).
Here's my question - We're hoping to open a 0% card to pay off most/all of this car finance, this would be in a couple of months and in hubbys name.
Do you think it would be advisable for him to try to get a 'credit building' card in the mean time (when he's on the electrol roll with CR's) so he has a bit more credit history in time for May/June when he applies for a 0% card?

You might want to ignore, or write back and state that the previous info is none of their business as they default is being reported at your current address, if it is. and if they can't substantiate it, they should remove it.

That way, if you refer to FOS, you have at least responded to them.

Thanks. It is being reported at my last address (I moved there March 2011). The last time I made a payment, and the date of the default is from when I lived at a different address before that (I moved there June 2008).

The default is registered under my maiden name on Noddle too.

Couldn't they just find out this info from doing a credit check?

Yes they could, I've had a few DCAs search my file recently for 'debt collection'.

So which addresses do Cabot have? Just your current one or the one the default is reported at?
