  • I have bought a Lou Lou bridal dress, mine was £675. I think that's quite a reasonable price compared to some that were in the shop

I don't generally spend much on clothes and had a medium budget for the wedding as I'm a realist so I set my budget at £850, bearing in mind I was a size 20/22 so it had to look right.

I went with my MOH to a posh shop with a massive b*tch working and tried on a lovely dress which cost £3500, I knew I probably shouldn't do that any more...

Over the 2 years planning I've lost over 7 stone and now I'm a size 10/12 which opens much more doors.

I got mine from Oxfam Bridal in Poole. It was brand new, fit almost perfectly and cost just £350 - the woman working in there couldn't have been more lovely and told me to google the designer. Her dresses don't go for less than £2k normally!

I recommend it to anyone - I know £350 isn't nothing, but I think the woman said I'd managed to find the most expensive dress they sold. There was a sale rail with lovely and unusual dresses for £40 and the money is going to a good cause.
  • Can anyone give any recommendations for dress shops to check out in London? I'm based in Camden so anywhere North or Central, as I don't drive. I think I've left it a bit late due to a stall in weight loss (wedding is July) and I'm hoping to find something that doesn't break the bank. Yesterday I walked to Mornington Crescent to Chalk Farm and couldn't find a single thing, except for a teeny dress in a charity shop that I had no hope of squeezing into! I'm hoping to go tomorrow to have a look but I'm clueless. My Nan mentioned Fonthill Rd in Finsbury Park and I've heard talk of things behind Oxford St, but I'm not sure where exactly, Oxford St isn't exactly a small area.
