How much did my wedding dress cost....far too much considering that I only wore it for a few hours....

but it was worth it because it made me feel beautiful and even now 20 odd years later I still look at the picture of me wearing it on the mantlepiece...and it brings back happy memories of the day

so it was money well spent in my opinion!
frugal October...£41.82 of £40 food shopping spend for the 2 of us!

    2017 toiletries challenge 179 out 145 in ...£18.64 spend
  • Mine is an Ian Stuart Pasha. I bought it for £150 off ebay, second hand, and it has cost me £60 to get all of the alterations done. It would have cost around £3000 new.

If I hadn't bought it (totally on a whim) I would have set a budget of £500.

However, today I went into the local Cancer Research charity shop as they have a wedding boutique upstairs (to look at shoes and accessories). They had some incredible dresses starting from around £20. I may get a second dress for the evening as the one I have is so large.

    Isn't it lovely?

I'm so pleased you got the dress you wanted for less than you wanted to spend!!! Was it in good condition when you bought it?

My wife's dress cost £300 (negotiated a 10% discount for cash as opposed to CC) but it was not a traditional wedding dress but it was what she wanted.

should you want to see the dress there are pictures online. (http://www.ourweddingphotoalbum.co.uk/)
I started with nothing and I am proud to say I still have most of it left.
  • Mine was £295. I was probably willing to go double that, and the first 2 dresses I tried were double the price, so I was shocked when the lady in the shop told me how much it was!

Including alterations, petticoat, veil/fascinator thing and the black sash I am adding to the dress the total comes to about £420! :j
  • Hehehehehehehe!
    :rotfl:
  • Just put down the first half of the money on my dress and put the order in today! Will cost £750 and it's a Phil Collins. Got a few alterations to get done and tapered straps to be made for it, need to get a quote for that.

    Excited :D

£525 for my Alfred Angelo dress. My Mum insisted on paying for it and she loved it just as much as I did.
