I had two one for the reception long and more traditional and one for the evening knee length and more comfortable. Both were made to measure and fitted perfectly. The long one needed a few adjustments but only cost me an additional £20. They both cost me a bit over £100. So many people made comments about how beautiful they were and aimed I'd spent a lot of money for them. I am so pleased I had the stars of my dreams at such a low price.

Mine was £1100, but I didn't pay for it myself. If I had been I probably wouldn't have spent that much. It was Benjamin Roberts 2058A.

Looking back now I could have got a different dress which was just as lovely for less but I loved my dress and hated the whole dress shopping experience so was happy to find one and stop looking!

There are some gorgeous new dresses on Ebay and they go for a fraction of the price, and you can re sell them if you wish.

I have just bought a wedding outfit complete with hat (all tags in place unworn) for £93, it is a Condici and is tagged at £595 and £189 for the hat. I will wear it for one wedding and sell it on in the spring and may even make a profit!!

Mine was £900, which is more than I had intended to spend!

However, it should have been £1395 but I asked the shop if I could buy the sample I'd tried on as it fitted reasonably well. They gave it to me for £900 including alterations and cleaning. It hadn't been on display very long and is in near-perfect condition. Not sure if everywhere would do this but if you find something you love and the sample is a good size for you it's worth asking!

I did try finding it second hand but it's a small designer and quite a new design, so there were none to be had.

I'm going dress shopping next weekend so this thread is really useful for me too! I've got appointments in three shops. I didn't bother with two shops as one's website said 'dresses starting from £2000' and the other 'from £3000'!! I think one of the shops I'm going to starts at £1000 but I thought I might as well try some on and then if I fall in love with one, look online for a second hand one.

Hoping the other two shops have ones for under £1k though; ideally don't want to be spending more than about £800 if I can help it.

Could be worth checking this place out if you can get to one of their locations? http://weddingdress-factoryoutlet.co.uk/

Mine was £60 from £400 on the monsoon sale rail. It was the end one, just looking at me, and the only one in that style. And it was my size.

I needed a simple one as we went abroad so needed to carry it plus not be too hot in it. And I like simple styles anyway. So it was perfect!

I visited a very local bridal shop during their sale weekend with my MOH and one of my BMs, just to have a look at styles etc. BM spotted a dress that is so me, first one I tried on and loved it instantly. Just about perfect fit too - we all had tears in our eyes lol.

I tried on a few others but went back to that one and said I'd buy it before seeing the price! Was hoping to spend between £500-£800 and this was a bargain at £299! I also bought my tiara and the most beautiful veil that matches my dress perfectly and ordered a custom made sash/'belt'. Everything for less than £500, so one happy bunny :)
