Also the amount of pressing my bf does at work I think they do do their laundry!

But I recall staying in a travelogue and it basically having a sign saying towels were essentially reused

That just means for yourself though, not reused from guest to guest. It used to be that hotels would give you fresh towels every day, but now unless you actually ask for them, they'll just leave the same ones for you to use to save on laundry.

Ive stayed in a few hotels and B and Bs over the last few years when Ive been away from home doing courses and no one has ever had an objection to me bringing food or alcohol in, in fact the last one I was in gave me directions to a local supermarket. If there are hotels that forbid people bringing in their own food or booze Id assume they want people to buy from them instead, but not everyone can afford to.

Id take the wine with you and not worry about it in the slightest.

I was in a travelodge just before Christmas for a few nights and that was the case, they gave me fresh towels when I needed them, they actually usually have about five or six different sized towels in the room which a family might get through in a day or so, but not one person unless they were having 3 showers a day.

Ive never been in a travelodge ever thats had dirty towels in the room when you check in.

There;s a very nice Raddisson hotel at Heathrow which is five star that has a drive through MacDonalds right next door. You often see people walking into reception with bags of food...especially at breakfast time as the hotel breakfast is nearly £20. No-one bats an eyelid.

I've stayed in hotels all over the world as well as many places in Britain and never come across any problems with bringing in your own food or drink - although some hotels are a little sniffy if you ask for a couple of wine glasses but most are fine.

You can take what you want in food wise you don't need to sneak it in, it's not the cinema!

I take my own sweeties in there too.

Us too, in fact Cineworld have said on their facebook page they don't mind at all as long as customers do not bring in alcohol or hot food :-)

I got caught doing that one. :( There is an Asda next door so we went in there first to get some popcorn, sweeties and drinks. I guess it was pretty obvious walking in with a carrier bag (couldn't put them in handbag, it was too small), but I got stopped "open your bag so I can see what's inside", I felt like I was being integrated! Then the biatch took them off me! :rotfl: My husband said I should have said I had allergies and needed my own food.

Those cinemas are daylight robbery with their pricing.

I used to work in a Premier inn and the housekeeping girls has 3 different colour cloths for cleaning different parts- one for dusting, one for bath and sinks and one for toilets, not to mention the floor cleaning cloth. I would hate to find out that any of the decent hotel chains use only one cleaning cloth for everything!! How disgusting!

In response to the op question, you take whatever you like in your room, you can even order takeaway. Hope you have a lovely time!
