Pay Off by Christmas Challenge

I'm scared of matched betting, so it's not something I'm going to try. I've decided I have enough junk (quality items) to Amazon and carboot so that's the way I'm going.
Just going to save any small amounts of money I come across and pay them into my OD as my Store card should be ok to pay off before Christmas.
I thought I'd give it a go and see what happens.... got stuff on Amazon already, and I'm def gonna give car booting a go, I've got a ton of baby clothes to get rid of and it seems better than eBaying....

I have loads of kitchen stuff from when I was at uni and i thought that this would be a great time to get september new students!! That and I could really do with a big clear out at home. I seems to have so much stuff at home and most of it is just sitting in a cupboard.
I guess I must use regularly about 10% of the things I own... how embarassing in that.Current debt - £16,300Debt at worst 17/03/2011 - £18,067.62:eek::eek::ANot going anywhere else, ever again :A0 -
Hi Lucy,
Would like to join if thats OK, my "pay off" will be pay off some money from my mortgage as I am now debt free.
My goal is to save £1,500 by the end of December. Going to be very hard as car has been very sick lately and had to pay £93.50 to get it recovered home and am due to find out my bill for new clutch tonight. The mortgage also went up another £10 per month yesterday.
So far I have managed to scrape together 681.04 which is since beginning of the year. Have done car boot and regular ebaying and have cleared credit card which was at £1800 beginning of year. So now am just basically budgeting and cutting back as much as I can and constantly trying to think of ways to make extra money, so wish me luck!

:hello: Hi Guys.
I've just been thinking of ways to raise a bit of extra cash. This is what I have come up with so far and I was wondering if you had anything to add:
-Carbooting
-Amazon/ebay sales (can't access Ebay so stuck with Amazon)
-Saving any spare cash (i.e money Mum gives me for taking her out in my car)
-My coppers bumble bee (had 81p at last count)
-Transfering all/half of any money I have left in my account (assuming there is some!)
Any others? I know I could get a second job, but I'm tired enough with the one I've got.Current debt - £16,300Debt at worst 17/03/2011 - £18,067.62:eek::eek::ANot going anywhere else, ever again :A0 -
Just made 33p profit on Amazon:o
On a plus note, I have just sorted out all DS's clothes that are now too small, or stuff that's too big and never going to wear, and I have 3 bin liners full to sell - didn't realise a 4mth old baby could have soooo many clothes!
Decided I'm gonna try to get enough stuff together for a carboot, so that's the first stuff sorted. Only 4 weeks left til I go back to work FT, so I really need to get my @^$£ into gear!

Oooo 4 weeks, if your house is anything like my that's a lot of sorting to be fitted in by then!!
I think that the worse 'profit' I've made of Amazon was about 11p!! But it was nice to have some more space and every little helps... Well that's what I told myselfCurrent debt - £16,300Debt at worst 17/03/2011 - £18,067.62:eek::eek::ANot going anywhere else, ever again :A0 -

That's exactly what I think! 33p is still 33p, and the cd would only have sat in my house doing nothing if I hadn't sold it... of course, if I hadn't bought it in the first place..... hind sight is a wonderful thing!:D

Sarah - what stuff is it? Next boys stuff goes really well on Ebay (I've found) as do a few other things - toys especially. Newborn stuff is v hard to shift but good at car boots I've been told.

I know. There are so many things I think that about. But nevermind, we bought them and now we can sell them on. Ok at a faction of what we paid for them, but as you said better than them doing nothing.Current debt - £16,300Debt at worst 17/03/2011 - £18,067.62:eek::eek::ANot going anywhere else, ever again :A0
