Can we have a happy thread?

I'm feeling pretty good today. It's the little things that add up.
I asked my friends recently if they knew anyone over 40 who was happy...and they said they couldn't think of anyone (we are all early 20's).. lots of big problems inside the whole family but everythings going well for me and my little fam atm but even though people complain we can't really know what goes on behind closed doors!
So who's happy and why?
What are you proud to have achieved so far?
Etc etc :-)
NO whining in my happy thread please! :rotfl:

I had double the amount of people I was expecting last night for my metafit and kettlebells class. My hall is tiny and its cheap so Ive not been losing money, but I had so many people turn up for kettles last night I had to go home and get more. They all worked their socks off as well. I pay for my hall hire in advance and Ive done 4 classes now and its already covered with some extra as well, so Im happy, as I spent long enough last year struggling on with one more expensive place that wasnt working.
Im also happy to be relatively pain free after a tailbone injury just over a year ago and Ive lost quite a lot of weight since then as well.0 -
Lovely idea!
So what if I'm tempting Fate?!
Over 40, all my own teeth, stable job, happily married, three lads (of whom I am Just So Proud even if I don't say it enough) & whilst I don't sail pass the national debt quiz on nul points, at least it's stable not spiralling.
In point of fact, when I sit down & count my blessings, not only do I have to take my socks off, I quite often fall asleep!
And when the news tells me the Government is saying we aren't squeezed, I just grin wryly at my bank statements & wait for the real news to cycle round.
That said, I'm the sort of soul who quite likes rain as jumping in puddles is fun.0 -
I'll join in too, if I may! 3 times your age ;-) - but whilst I couldn't exactly call myself happy this week (3 years on from my OH's funeral) I am content - and I can settle for that!
Health is good (touching wood and whistling) , I have enough money to live on (although a lottery win wouldn't go amiss) - I have a part-time job which although hard work is so much fun - and its only three minutes walk from where I live - and I live in a lovely part of the country, with sea, beaches and countryside all within walking distance.
I have a wonderful supportive family - although not living close by, we are very very close - and lovely friends. And of course - three lolloping labradors - could a woman ask for more???
I hope we have lots more happy - or contented - posts on this thread!0 -
I'm only 25, am I allowed to join in?
In the last 14 months I've bought a house with OH, got engaged, got 2 cats and got a new job. In that order, with the job only being this week. I feel like things are on the up :jExcuse any mis-spelt replies, there's probably a cat sat on the keyboard0 -

This is me in a nutshell - not the way you intended - just literally as I do have my up and down moments.
I've spent the past three days changing my business from first class to 2nd class post - doubling my profits (small items) and reducing prices slightly with it so I am the cheapest selling them - so sales have gone up. I've always been abit negative about it as I keep expecting for it all just to stop and have no sales but it keeps surprising me. On top of this I have had a fairly expensive item refund come through today - that I have had to wait near a month for as it was faulty and seller was just ignoring me so it was forced - absolute weight off my mind!!
Funniest moment of the week was today when I had a quality street chocolate and offered DS one and he fell over three times in excitement trying to get his hand in the tin as fast as possible (he is only 17months)I'm only 25, am I allowed to join in?

I recently got engaged to a wonderful man, I have a healthy Daughter, I have a job {albeit a job and boss I hate but it's money} and a roof over our heads, money in the bank and food in the cupboards. Plus I have 2 cats who are my fur babies

I'm happy that my antibiotics for tonsillitis appear to be kicking in...lol!

I got married 3 months ago at the age of 51 after 20+years of singledom (quite happy singledom) My older daughter is well settled into a career and has a lovely partner. My younger daughter, still quite unsettled, left this week to work in a ski resort.
I work for myself in a field I find tremendously rewarding and I've just picked up a couple of juicy bits of business.
I have a lot to be thankful for!0 -
I'm happy for many reasons, but the excitement my dog showed me when I came home from work was the icing on the cake0
