Can we have a happy thread?

I'm happy because life is good. Not outstanding, but good.
I've got 3 happy and healthy children. The OH and I are going well (and doing good at ignoring all the folks assuming we're going to get remarried) and our house is finally finished.0 -
I'm 59   How did that happen? I'm happy
. I have loads to be thankful for.
39 years of a very happy marriage, and both of us in good health.
Brilliant daughters, both doing well. (Son currently as well as he can be, given his mental health.)
Like where I live and mortgage paid off.
Retired - not rich, but no money worries.
Oh, and planning a big holiday for birthday and anniversary. . .I did not speak out
Then they came for me
And there was no one left
To speak out for me..

I'm happy too.
All in all I've had a fantastic life so far and the great times continue.
I took early retirement in April last year at 55 and bought myself a boat to spend it on.
Just got back from spending the weekend on the boat, it was wonderful. If all goes according to plan I'll be spending more time on the boat than land by April and life will be one long holiday. One by one the penguins are slowly stealing my sanity.0 -
I'm 28.
It may be rented but I have a roof over my head. Still saving for the 'ole deposit, so hopefully we can get on the dreaded housing ladder next year.
It may be stressful at times but I have a job I love. It's what I've always wanted to do. I worked damn hard for it. The good moments outshine the bad.
He may not be very well, but I have a really ace cat. Fifteen years old, suffers from triaditis, always in the way of one computer screen or another but God, I'll miss him when he's gone. Thankful for this time we have with him.
He may be useless with money but I have a husband I wouldn't swap for the world. Together ten years this autumn, married four. He plays guitar and has brown eyes so it's all good.
They may all live miles away, scattered around the country, but I have a super family. All supportive, get on with them all. Little sister expecting a baby later this year (super exciting).
I could go on but it would get boring. XD
Good idea for a thread, OP.0 -
We've just finished decorating the bedroom and I'm so happy with it. It's only the second time we've ever decorated a room and we're both rubbish but it looks great and we've got a new bed which is so comfy.
I have a fantastic husband who even if he is a bit annoying a lot of the time is lovely, and has a gorgeous smile and lovely hazel eyes. He made me dinner tonight and even though it was a bit rubbish, at least he tried.
We have a daft rescue dog who is very cute who makes me smile every day and gives loads of cuddles.

What a great thread, l have to join too because for the first time in years - at the age of nearly 45 - l feel in charge of my life! I used to co-run a business with my dad but due to his ill health l was taking on more of the work myself which unfortunately wasn't doing me any good. So we decided to sell up and in Nov the sale finalised. :j
I'm now going through the transition period and after that I'd like to go down to 12hr week whether l stay where l am or move on, but after 29 years I'd like to try something new.
So soon l will have a tidy cash sum once we've wound up the remaining business, to pay some off the mortgage and get a new car.
This last couple of weeks l haven't been needed at work so much and it's been BLISS to be pottering about at home keeping it clean and tidy. I have my 7yo son after 8 years of trying so lots to be thankful for.
I worry about the lack of wages coming in but hubby earns well and others manage, so l guess I'll be on the oldstyle board a lot more. :rotfl:
Well done everybody, l still have sadness in my life but we've got to keep looking at the positives, eh? Xx

I'm 40yrs and 7.5months and very happy in general.
I'm debt free as of my 40th birthday, I have savings (not much but growing every month) I love my job, I have a fab Hubby (don't tell him I said that;)) 2 crazy best friends who would go to the moon and back for me ( though one would probably be too hungover if I asked her to do so on a Saturday:rotfl:) 3 holidays booked this year already - week in Spain, long weekend to Scotland and a week in Wales, EDF has just reduced my monthly DD by £9 during winter, need I go on?
Oh, I'm going out for a carvery tea with one of my crazy best friends tonight and have a 15% off voucher for it0 -
I love this thread too, especially about the little things, it really makes you realise that happiness is about mindset and being grateful for the small things (as well as the big). Hope more will post as a real booster to read when feeling down.0
