Looks like WFTC underestimated amount owing I actual owe £2,530, basically all of the last years payout which U.S. Annoying because I phoned them saying I didn't think we were entitled and they assured me it was all correct. Paying it back at a rate if £70 per month for now. This really got me down but I'm trying to snap out of it and get back into debt clearing mode.

I've got my renewal quote from car insurance it was £200 more than I paid for this year. I've shopped round and found it cheaper elsewhere. Just got to click buy.

Not many pads made, I had to replace some kids clothes etc that were too small, buy a few things round the house that was running out, brought what cometics had ran out in a roll back offers. Sort of had a catch up with everything month.

Today I will put £10 to emergency fund and £10 to car settlement figure. I'm back on the overtime train, so I can meet my June goal. eeek!!

To meet my June aim then I need £100 in the car settlement account and £570 left to go into the emergency fund.

I would love to achieve this without using June's pay. That would be awesome!!. I did overtime last night waiting for a call back today to see if can get a couple more shifts in.

I've got to decide on what Julys goal will be, it has to be big so I can achieve the original goals. I'm going to go all out and say a total of £3,000 in car settlement account and £200 in one months pay account. We will see this may need tweaking closer to the time.

Went to the dentist had a new filling put in, I can't wait to feel my mouth again feels very numb lol.

I miss doing daily pads but there is only enough in my account to get me to payday.


Checked my payslip for the overtime I did on the weekend will get £200 tomorrow. I will be moving £100 into the car settlement account which will be half my June goal met. I will move the other £100 into the emergency fund leaving me with £470 to find before the month is up, working OT tomorrow 8 hours and I worked last night so it will get me close to my goal but probably not all the way there. Fingers crossed for a miracle....lol 13 days to go!!! eek


I've found a good car insurance quote will pay for it out of my June pay. That's all folks, working the next four in a row so updates will be short.

Even with all the spends you have done really well, we've gone through the car insurance saga, thou for dad.... his initial company offered 25% reduction when he said no dont renew, I got him a great deal thou co-op, nearly £100 cheaper than the initial price, better policy excess, free karcher washer and £63 cashback..

The cashback will be my commission... xx

Boo to the WFTC over-payment.
I claimed WTC/CTC from the day it was introduced through to the day i got made redundant in 2010. They never did get their calculations right.
Ended-up with £4k in over-payments for CTC which they took from the last 3 years payments at £10 a month.

They have never chased me for the oustanding balance (yet) and I am back on WTC again, so they will have knowledge of the outstanding o/ps. May be they are not chasing or deducting as I am no longer getting the CTC element.

Just interested to know if you do agency work or just work extra shifts at your normal workplace? I've been doing overtime recently but most of my colleagues work for an agency and earn £40-£75 an hour!

Hi all,

Another £100 winging its way to the emergency fund today, so that's a balance of £630 in the emergency fund. £370 to go! get paid OT on Thursday so fingers crossed I can meet the aim.

Sorry I haven't updated I'm either working or at the gym (until my membership runs out).

Thought I had updated this today but it disappeared into cyberspace,

Sorry I've been AWOL (gym, work or sleep) so today I reached my June goal and passed it a little bit. £1,000 back in emergency fund, £600 in car settlement figure.:T

I get paid tomorrow normal job, I will be buying my car insurance for the year then my regular outgoings, plus got a few end of school year expenses, Prom, school trips, next year fees etc.

Original to do list below:
Pay off settlement figure for the car £14,675
Pay my half of holiday £2,500 Achieved :j
Have emergency fund of £1,000 Achieved:j
One months wage surplus in bank account £1,400

So I've done the maths to be debt free by Christmas I need to save £2550 per month. This figure will change as the settlement figure changes each month a little. So. My insane July plan is to have a total balance of £3150 in my car settlement savings account! £600 is in there £2,550 left to go!! Deadline 31st July.
