I did wonder if it was West Coast, thank you.0 -
Katherine with a kicking 'K', well that's my middle name and my Nan taught me the kicking 'k' bit lol!0

I also vote for Katherine or Catherine. I speak from experience that Kathryn isn't that common, and people more generally assume it's the longer version.
Kathryn never used to be that common. Never met anyone with the same spelling as me growing up, but these days Kathryn seems to be the most common. Of the 6 people I know with the same name as me, 3 are Kathryn, 2 are Catherine and 1 is Katherine. Thankfully for simplicity we go for Kat, Kate, Katie, Kathryn, Cathy and the 6th uses her middle name.Zebras rock0 -
I'd go with Catherine or Kathryn but I'd say each slightly differently - "cath-uh-rin" and "cath-rin" so a slightly different name in my head.0

For any other situation, a person's name is spelled however they tell you its spelled. Even if that's Mchatharynne with a silent M.
Now you've done it! There will be someone out there who is thinking to themselves "That's a good idea" and it will be All Your Fault!

See... a weird little coincidence (talking about psychics on another thread)...
I have no idea why, but I was thinking this morning how I didn't used to like the name Catherine (I would spell it with a C), but if it was spelt Kathryn, I think it's quite elegant. Went to primary school with one of each.
I didn't think of any other names, I don't know why I thought of that particular name, it was just a little dolly daydream that popped into my head randomly.

PS It was after seeing Cat someone or other on telly credits and I was thinking about it probably being short for Catherine. I just remembered.2024 wins: *must start comping again!*0
