Just finishing my lunch then I'll go vacuum upstairs. DD did it yesterday but I know she didn't do it properly.
I've stripped both sofas and the first lot is now in the TD on a gentle setting. I have no idea what DD has got on the covers of 'her' sofa but it was a very sticky horrible mess hence it going in the washing machine. Going to have to vacuum the base as well before I can reassemble. The WM is on a rinse wash, and then I'll throw the other sofa cover in to get the blackcurrent etc out of it. There are times when I'm sure she was cleaner when she was a toddler

Epic fail in the cake department
it has completely collapsed in the middle  version 2 currently in the oven. I hope it rises enough to split as I don't think I have enough ingredients to make another half.
On the plus side (or not, diet-wise) we've had sponge and custardso it looked rubbish but tastes pretty good...
I've done the ironing and the DW is on. WM ready to go with some whites but will wait for DS school tee. I've also prepped swede and squash, currently in oven under the second cake, will make curry and soup I think...
Can't believe the cake! :doh:Bossymoo

Swept and washed kitchen floor, progress just seems to stop mid week for me.
Big one is due back from her trip in the next hour, Tiny has taken to hanging upside down. Is it normal for a 20 week old to not only lie flat but push herself so that her head is upside down?
Will see what else I can get done in the next 15 mins.0 -
Argh. Cake no 2 fail!!! It's fallen spectacularly apart!
Emergency trip to Mr A after school - I'd go now but DD fell asleep on me and is currently snoring on the sofa...
Is it wrong if I get them a happy meal each for tea?
I'm going to measure the icing topper and see if I can just buy a cake to decorate. Can't be having the whole thing fall apart again if I keep baking.:doh::doh::doh:Bossymoo

Upstairs is done except for changing DD's bed & a cupboard in my room, but getting downstairs clean is more important today since I need to do battle with the sofa cushions
Just having a couple of minutes sit down with a cool drink then its vacuuming the bottom section of the stairs and then on with the sofa and then the floor since DD didn't vacuum downstairs last night. I'm leaving the dishes though, she can do them if she wants her pocket money
And what timing I have, my alarm to say end of school will go off in just over 30min so no need to set a timer this time eitherCreeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -
Dustykitten wrote: »Fizz have you had AF directly after donating? Do they still test your iron level before you give (I haven't been for years and keep saying I'll get back into it).
Yes, they give you the pinpr1ck test; my drop of blood sank like a stone in the test tube which I think means I have good Hb levels. AF did show face on Sunday and (sorry if TMI) I had such a heavy day on Wednesday, it was like going back to my pre-ablation days  Maybe it's the combination which has left me feeling so drained. I am booked to go again in 16 weeks, if AF is due/here at the time I'll see if I feel this rough again after; trouble is, the session I attend is very busy, if you don't book a slot you can wait over 2 hours to donateso rocking up a week or two later without an appointment probably isn't an option. It's times like these I wish my cycle were more regular (can very between 21 and 45 days)
Can I twist your arm into finding out about your local session? I was always a big chicken but my BFF had very premature twins in 2012 and the littlie, Harry, wouldn't have survived had it not been for several blood transfusions. It's worth feeling this tired when I think about that, actually
AN-Y-WAY!! I decided against doing anything to the lounge and have spent the last hour or so under a cwtchy blanket, plittering about on t'internet. Let's call it my "me time"Leaving to collect DS2 at 3, then we're off to pick up DD so we wont be home til gone 6. I will flap between 7 and 8.30 whilst DH is at cricket nets.
Woe betide any child who wakes me up tomorrow morning! I need a lie-in!0 -
bossy, treat them to a happy meal each, its not like they have them every day is it. and save the stress and buy a ready made cake - only you will really know as you are still finishing it off yourself.
fizzwhizz, hope you are feeling better soon and that you get your lie-in.
i got asked to stop giving blood a few years ago after constantly being refused for anemia on about 3 out of every 5 visits for quite a few years. i used to be able to give a couple then either got pregnant so stopped or id get refused for anemia then have to have 12 months off. i cant blame being veggie as this was happening before i turned.SPC~12 ot 124

I've spent 2 hours ironing watching catch up tv.
I'm so tired! Early night tonight. Think I will go up with the littlies.0 -
I used to give blood. Every time I'd have an almost going to pass out thing afterwards. Was fine during, it was always about 5 min after.
I stopped whilst having babies. You can rejoin after a year but then we had all the upset at home, and I've just never been back. I don't know when I'd go, tbh, I'm either at work or have the kids. I'd rather not take them really. Especially if I'm going to have a dizzy tizzy...
Yes mrs m-p I'm hoping to get a big enough one that's plain or just has a few bits I can pick off...Bossymoo

I had a bit of a moment there, too, with leaky eyes. *snif* I hate to admit it, but some of the things up there came from my grandmother's attic, through my parents multiple attics through various housemoves and now my attic - what should a person do with the lace handmade by their great grandmother. If two earlier generations didn't know, how can I?

just spotted this on pintrest, and thought of you, the different styles of lace to lovely all put together like this and grouping them means they dont take up too much space. if lace is your thing that is.
